Hi i dont have sound in my inspiron 1501 visa, how can i download for free?

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Casette to disc

to convert music from cassett to disk u need to connect the cassett player headphone jack / line out jack to ur PC/laptop mike / line in jack....then play the music and record it in a software(Nero Sound editor etc)
then once that's done save it as mp3 file on to ut PC and trf it to ur cd/disk....u can just copy it as mp3 or create a music cd using Nero...from the mp3 file
the difference is if u just copy the mp3 on to the cd then only a mp3 player/mp3 music system deck can play it... if it's created as a music cd then any cd player can play it....just like any music cd that u buy in the mkt...
a 700 mb disk can hold almost 7 to 10 hrs of music in mp3 format....
but a music disk can hold only 80 mins of music

I have a Inspiron 1300 an I can't get any audio out of it ever since I reload xp. All I get is beeps.

hello, have you verified if drivers are installed for sound card??
here is how you can check it: click on Start, right click on "My Computer", then select properties, under hardware tab click on device manager. if you see a yellow exclamaation mark on something that says multimedia device that means driveres are not installed.
download the drivers from dell and install that should fix it.
if you listed model correctly here is link for drivers:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R171789&SystemID=INSPIRON1300/B130&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=8907&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=4&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=3&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=235761

download it and save it on desktop, when finished, double click to extract ( note by default its extracted in C:\Dell\Drivers\R1717899). Since its audio application it will start install once finished extracting.
A reboot maybe required after install if finished.

hope this helps
Good luck
