SOURCE: my nokia E72 is losing
This seems more of a hardware issue but what could be done is to remove the battery and the SIM card. Now clean the SIM card contacts and make sure that these contacts are really tight.
Reset the battery and if the phone shows the same symtom then it is a fault on the mother board and you must get a consensus on the cost estimation from Nokia before proceeding further or tampering.

SOURCE: Nokia E72 insert sim problem
- Clean the sim card tray - see whether the sim card tray led is broken (if so replace it) - If the problem still persists replace the battery. - If still the problem persists check the sim card (try it any other phone)
Hope this helps, thanks!
