Question about Televison & Video
Hi My friend has a Techwood 32" LCD TV, broken screen. Just checking the parts from inside to see if he can sell it, found Vestel brand Power Board 17PW25-4. The TV switches ON and the inverter, backlight, main board works fine as well, can hear the sound and the the broken distorted pic, but the meaning is that all things work. The only thing is that the Vestel Power Supply makes high speed ticking noise while the TV is trying to switch ON. Once the LED stays ON, the ticking sound does not disappear but slows down quite a lot. From standby to bring the pic ON also brings the ticking sound back ON until the pic comes on and then the ticking goes a bit low. As the PSU seems to work fine but the ticking still there, what component is kind of faulty, where should I check for the fault. The reason is as everything works I dont know what to do and where to look for the fault. Thanks

SOURCE: Screen goes completely out.
when it blanks out, tuen the lights out in the room, and shine a flash light at the screen, see if you can see the picture, if you can, it is the inverter moard blamking out, thats the board that lights the back lights, if you cant, hit the input button on the remote, if the TV comes back with a picture, it is a problem with the main board, in paticular the componant input on the main board

sounds like either way your power board is bad- do you intend on replacing a component? I would look for Puffy caps- you know- leaking from the top-

check if their is a signal on voltages around 3.3v at the inverter board if none their is a problem in the board which is in the processor.
