Are you trying to install Windows XP on your laptop that has a SATA drive in the laptop? And during the Windows XP install it cannot find a hard drive? The reason why Windows install does not work is because Windows XP does not have a SATA driver support and therefore cannot find the hard disk. THE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. Go into your BIOS and turn off Native SATA support or set it to IDE controller (this setting depends on the type of BIOS). Save the setting and reboot and you will be able to install Windows XP.
