Can't calibrate the crosshairs on the WiiQualiser with remote???

Help...just bought the WiiQualiser "gun" for the remote for a more realistic feel and the laser sights are about a foot out from the actual remote pointer. Also, not sure how to get the nunchuck to respond as the trigger....only had the Wii for a week so still learning...any advice gratefully accepted. Ta

Thank you for your response. As absolute beginners we were just trying to get a more realistic "feel" for the shooting game in the Wii Play package. I understand that the nunchuck is not required for this one but we can't even get the guns sights to line up with the targets. We enjoy the target shooting games (in real life too) and have been looking for other games with similar formats - without all the violence! - but the only thing we have found so far is Link Crossbow Training which uses the official Wii Zapper. Our gun cradle is a generic brand but I thought it would still have been compatible for this as well. Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Thanks

The wii itself does not have a calibration for the crosshairs that I am aware of, it is basically built into the games software or said game uses the default pointer.

Having said that you can go into your wiis settings and make sure the sensor bar is set up right. It sounds like perhaps your bar may be set up to bet placed at the top of the screen while it's actually at the bottom, this would set it off by about a foot.

If you tell me which game you're trying to calibrate the pointer for I'd be able to help you more.

Ah I see, well since wiiplay lacks any form of calibration in the game and the wii itself does as well. I don't think there's anything you can do to really help in that matter. The Wii pointer is only a general point without some form of calibration.

The closest you can get would be to assure that the consoles sensor bar is set up exactly as the console is told(I.E. if you set it to top it's above the tv) I realise it is frustrating but most recent shooting games(mid 2007+) have some form of calibration, I can't say all because it's difficult to own them all.

I'm sad to report, the only way you'll get calibration would be the Links Crossbow Training and other games like House of the Dead 2&3 but the latter has violence.

Having said that, I think any game is compatible with the wii zapper case as long as the B button is exposed and the numchucks buttons are able to be pressed. However in most cases the zapper is quite superfluous adding only a feel and no real advantage in the game itself.

Question mark appears on screen when I put a game inside of it.

  • Try calibrating the screen
  1. Turn the Leap Pad off.
  2. Now hold the question mark button for two seconds and then power the until on while still holding the question mark button down.
  3. The unit will power on and when you see the "calibration Screen" you can release the question mark button.
  4. Touch the crosshairs with the stylus and a large crosshair icon will appear in the middle of the screen.
  5. Touch this icon with the stylus and this will bring up the screen calibration procedure.
  6. Touch all 5 crosshairs as the appear.
  7. Press the "B" button to exit after completing the calibration.

You can't. Sometimes that will happen but most of the time the cross hairs will not appear.

My elevation and windage adjustments aren't moving my scope. I shot 4 times and my group is 1 inch. Problem is I adjusted my scope between all 4 shots. I'm consistently shooting 7 inches high and 3 inches...

This can only be due to a "broken" scope. To be sure, you can put your gun in a vice (cushion it) and put the crosshairs on a fixed point. Without moving the gun, crank the adjustment knobs a good 10-15 clicks in one direction each, and see if the crosshairs move from where you had them pointed.
If they do not, the scope must be replaced. If they do move, perhaps you should try adjusting the scope quite a bit more between shots.
The best way to sight it in requires a helper. Fire one shot with the crosshairs on the bullseye. Then, without reloading, put the crosshairs back on the bullseye, and have a friend adjust the knobs until the crosshairs move to the ACTUAL point of impact of that shot. It is essential NOT to move the gun while doing this.
This method allows me to sight any gun in with only 2 shots (and a few for confirmation, of course). Best of luck!

Freezing 2nd crosshair

I have the same problem. The crosshair worked for a couple of hours and all the sudden the player 1's crosshair does not show up and cannot aim, while player 2 remote was perfectly fine.
I checked the Option and made sure the crosshair is "visible", too. Still doesn't solve the problem.
I have tried to calibrate it again. Doesn't work.
I have tried to disconnect the remote and reconnect it. Doesn't work.
I have tried to synk the remote and the console, doesn't work.
I have tried to change to another new remote and make sure the battery is full. Doesn't work.
I have tried to reset software, turn off and on the console. Doesn't work.
Finally, I figured it might be the Calibration I did at the beginning mess up the system (why the vedio on youtube with a SEGA guy told us to calibrate???!). So I tried to delete the memory of my HOTD file and set up a new account (put in the disk and select the game again after deleting the original file) and it works!! EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL.
Bad thing about this method is that we lost all of our paly history (credit, life, scores) by doing this and have to start from scratch again.
Remember! DO NOT CALIBRATE YOUR REMOTE!!!!!

Motorola a1200 screen calibration

If the screen calibration is way off then it seems that you can't even click on the crosshair during screen calibration. However, tapping on the crosshair does seem to adjust the calibration a little in the right direction each time, it's just not obvious that anything happened. So the trick is just to keep trying - gently and repeatedly tap the same spot on the crosshair for several seconds - eventually the screen will calibrate.
