Saitek AV8R-02 not recognised by my iMac Intel OSX 10.6.8

Purchased Saitek AV8R-02 from X-Plane.org where the site said this was Mac compatible. I cannot get my Mac to recognise this device, therefore unable to configure in x-plane.

Hi, I got this working by downloading and installing this <http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver> then adding in a new device by altering /System/Library/Extensions/360Controller.kext/Contents/Info.plist in the right place adding :
<key>AV8R-02</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.mice.driver.Xbox360Controller</string> <key>IOCFPlugInTypes</key> <dict> <key>F4545CE5-BF5B-11D6-A4BB-0003933E3E3E</key> <string>360Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/Feedback360.plugin</string> </dict> <key>IOClass</key> <string>Xbox360Peripheral</string> <key>IOKitDebug</key> <integer>65535</integer> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOUSBDevice</string> <key>idProduct</key> <integer>52009</integer> <key>idVendor</key> <integer>1848</integer> </dict>

Loaded XPlane 10 on new iMac and rudder pedals no longer function?

My iMac has a CD/DVD drive, but I posted a X-Plane 10 pendrive to avoid inserting DVD #1 every session. It functions perfectly. Another point is to connect all peripherals (stick and pedals etc.) BEFORE launching X-Plane 10. Then calibrate your peripherals within XP 10.
I have no pedals set, but instead a pitch-stick with grip throttle and a Logitech joystick with twist grip to fly helicopters.

I have changed my operating system from XP home to Windows Home Premium. my Saitek AV8R-01 seems to be designed for XP. Can I intall a driver that will work with Windows 7

The driver for Windows 7 can be downloaded from here:

http://saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php

From the second drop-down menu to the right select Joysticks then select AV8R and then select your operating system.

You'll have 2 buttons with the driver and software. Click on each and save the driver to your computer then install them(driver first).

Hope it helps. AV8R AAV8R

I have new Saitek Aviator AV8R-01 Joystick. I want to use it on my MAC Book Pro Computer. I do not see a file for MAC on the provided CD. Will it still work ?

Unfortunately for the moment Saitek does not have any drivers for Mac.

They say they are under development and they are expecting them somewhere this year...

Even so, the most basic functions should work by plug and play since this joystick is a DirectX device.

Hope it helps...

I have a Flagpoint Extra Joystick that wont recognise with vista

you'll have to buy a game port to usb converter, or a creative labs sound card with a game port. you are more likely to find the sound card. creative labs sound cards are more likely to be compatible with vista.

Saitek AV8R-01 Joystick - How to install?

No download disk is required. Your PC will automatically 'find' the joystick after it has been plugged into a USB port.
You can just about play any flight sim with this joystick, jat, prop plane or helicopter. The buttons do what ever you program them to do through your game's control settings.
