Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Quicken 2008 printing vista 64

All other programs print - this one does nothing - no error message, no form feed just total no response I have the same problem. It looks like the print gets stuck being "Spooled" Vista 64, Quicken 2008, HP L7780.

    This keeps happening.
    My printer worked great when I was using XP and Quicken 2007. Quicken 2007 didn't work when I upgraded to Vista 64 so I upgraded to Quicken 2008. Everything works fine except printing. I start a print job and nothing happens.

    I upgraded to Quicken 2008 specifically because it will run on Vista 64.
    For some reason I can't print from the application. It appears there are a lot of other people with the same problem.

    Just tried to run as suggested as an older version of windows. Still the same problem.

    Gosh, the printer works fine with all the other programs. Just does not print from Quicken.
    Quicken works fine with Vista 64.

    I can print from other applications. Word, Notepad, ect... I've cleared the spooler...
    Just keeps not printing from Quicken 2008.

    Nothing to do with the firewall.

    I found this solution on the Quicken Web Site.


    Be sure you have the latest printer driver for your printer's operating system
    Check your printer manufacturer?s Web site to ensure you have downloaded and installed the latest 64-Bit driver for your printer. If necessary, contact your printer manufacturer for assistance.

    NOTE: We have partnered with HP to find a resolution to this issue, and HP will be releasing updated drivers for many of their supported printers in January. Until this has been completed, please use the workaround below for using an emulation printer depending on your Operating System.

    Use an emulation printer
    If you have the latest printer driver for your printer and are still unable to print, try emulating your printer driver.
    Windows Vista
    Click the Vista logo (Start button) and select Control Panel.
    Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.
    Click Add a printer.
    Select Add a local printer.
    Select Use an existing port, select the same printer port as your current printer (found by checking the properties of your currently installed printer) from the list of ports, and click Next.
    In the Install the printer driver window:
    From the list of manufacturers, select HP.
    From the list of printers, select HP DeskJet 990c.
    Change the name of the printer to "Quicken - HP Deskjet 990c.
    Remove the check mark to from "Set as Default Printer", and click Next.
    Do not click the "Print a test page?" button.
    Click Finish.

    Yep, that works great! 
    the solution is to use an emulation printer until HP releases an update driver.

Hi
Open HP Solution Center, Click Settings ---> Print Settings.

Click Features tab, select the Paper Type as Plain Paper.

Select appropriate Paper Size under Size. Click Ok.

Now Print Cheques from Quicken.

If the issue still persists, Navigate to Printers folder, right click on the printer icon and click Properties. click Advanced tab, enable Print directly to printer. Click Apply.

This should now Print the Cheques.

If the issue still persists, install alternate drivers in Vista.

Here are the steps: 

Click Windows logo ---> Control Panel ---> Printers.
1) Click Add Printer 
2) Select local printer 
3) Choose Port as LPT1 
4) Choose HP and then select HP Deskjet 6500 

After the driver is installed, perform below steps: 

1) Right click on HP Deskjet 6500 printer icon in Printers folder 
2) Click on Properties 
3) Click on Ports tab 
4) Choose USB001 
5) Click Apply and click Ok 

Now try to print.

    I had this problem after I had fixed a problem printing from Quicken. I was able to print from Quicken by changing the print option in Windows -- mine was set to "Spool documents" and I changed it to "Print directly from printer" -- the advice I was given was to change it from whatever it was set at to the other option. For printing a PDF file, I changed it back to "Spool documents" and it allowed me to print the PDF file. Try this and see if it works for you -- click the Windows Start button and select Settings, then Printers and Faxes. Right click on the selected printer and select Properties. In the properties window look for a setting to print directly to printer or spool documents -- mine was under the Advanced option. Try the option not currently selected -- in my case, I changed it back to Spool documents with Begin printing immediately -- and then try to print a PDF file. It looks like I will have to toggle back and forth when I am printing from Quicken and when I am printing a PDF file. Hope this works for you.

Sir,

Updates the OS. Also check the firewall is blocking the program. Uninstall the quicken2008 and install the other drive (Not in C:\). Open control panel->click windows firewall-> go to exceptions tab and add the program you want to run the program from blocking firewall.

It may very well have not installed the proper print spooler... you can go to the start menu... control panel ... programs and click on that... under programs and features select "Use and older program with this version of windows" i do realize it's not an older program but you can change the compatability of the program here and run it that way... it should fix the issue

It shows printer is fine, the application may not compatible with vista, try to find the aspplication (Quiken) for vista.

otherwise use it with xp.

Control Panel->Admin tools->Services-> find the print spooler service and Start it & set it to automatic

    This problem is due to bug in VISTA 64.



    • Try this move the program (quicken 2008) from Program Files (x86) folder to C:\, Make sure you update the icon (link)to show this new location.



    • Take away all the administration rights. (clear the check boxes)
      Right click on the icon, click on Properties. Click on Advance tab,
      clear the check box 'Run as Admistrator. Click on the Compatibilty Tab,
      do the same. Now your printer should work

Go to command prompt and type : net stop spooler

then open start>run>type spool and delete the containts of the printer folder..

then
go to command prompt and type : net start spooler

    Solution

    - Go to Control Panel, add a new printer selecting HP Deskjet 990c.

    - I selected the same USB port as the c7820 is connected to.

    - Under advanced Tab, select Print Directly to the printer.

    - In Quicken, under File > Printer setup, select the new printer.
    (To remind me, I had named this printer Quicken - HP Deskjet 990c, but
    this is not important to the function).

Quicken 2008 won't print anything in reports in black


You need to replace the Black cartridge, as it appears the colour one is fine. Look in the printer options on your PC for a display of ink levels, and you'll probably find the black down to zero. If you've used generic cartridges, not genuine HP, you may find the printer can't actually read the ink levels.

Inabilityy to print from QUicken 2008 under Vista 64-bit OS


I can only speak for my situation, which is Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with a HP7590 all in one printer. I had all the problems I read about, note I was only interested in printing "reports" from QUICKEN 2008 DELUXE.

I was able to use the Quicken PDF printer, but I just installed the HP 990C printer drive and found that report printing now works. I did delete the PDF printer before I installed the 990C, but I would guess that's not necessary.

HP considers the 990C a "generic" printer.

Printing check from Quicken 2009 Deluxe


All Printers have this issue printing from quicken you would need to download the older version of quicken from oldversion.com
Then uninstall the new version and install the old version.
all lexmark/canon/epson/brother/hp.....printers have this problem with the new quicken.

Or try calling in to us at 1800-474-6836 and provide us with a remote session with your computer we may be able to fix this issue with a basic driver.Let me know if you have connected the printer thru usb or ethernet and I will give you a resolution that works 70% of the time with the new quicken

Won't print checks or anything from quicken but does for every other program. All I get is "spooling" and then nothing.


It won't print you have to save the file on the desktop or in documents or anywhere away from the original and then try to print.all printers have issues with quicken deluxe they will not print from quicken deluxe unless it so happens b fluke

Basic Quicken on Windows Vista will not print to HP psc 2410


Symptoms:
This issue occurs after updating to Release (R6). Quicken is attempting to display a duplicate check number message, when the error occurs. We have identified this issue to be caused by one or more duplicate check numbers in the checking register.


Solution 1
  1. When clicking Print Checks, the next Check # to be printed is displayed. Take note of the check #, and then click Cancel.
  2. From the Checking register, click Find and search for the check number.
  3. Edit the transaction(s) to include the correct check number, or remove the check # from the transaction.
  4. Print checks.

Solution 2
  1. Click Edit from the menu bar, and choose Preferences > Quicken Program.
  2. Go to Register > Notify, and remove the check mark from “Warn if a check number is re-used”
  3. Click OK.
  4. Print checks.

Won't Print Quicken Checks- Canon MP620


Here is all I could find, as it is a compatiblity issue and not a repair issue. Hope this helps. You can also get on an online instant chat at www.hp.com and they may also have some answers for you.

P.S. It appears that the fix will apply to more printers than are named in
the faq; The way I understand it, if there is a version 12 driver available
for your printer model, you probably should get it.
Apparently the list of printers to which the fix applies will be updated at

Quicken 2008 printing vista 64


There is an issue with Quicken 2007 and 2008 printing to many HP printers. Workarounds: 1) print to the Quicken PDF virtual printer, then print the resulting PDF file. or 2) Install a Deskjet 990 driver (using the add printer command) using the same port as the Officejet 7410 is installed.

well...the printer settings will be the key. open them up and make certain that you're tray assignments are in line with your A4 paper.

Check printing
