Incompatibility problem with Nero Smart Start and windows xp

I think I'm missing a winaspi32 (?) file. After I burn my dvd, it says "No Disc" on my dvd burner. I'm just learning, please help. How do I get this file back, and have any of you had this problem? Thanks

Try to re-install your nero software. then if not works. you try to install your Operating System. Becuase if you try to copy a winaspi32 to other computer, there is posibility not to work in your computer.

How can i burn mp3 disc without Nero 9 rearranging the tracks by title? I want to burn them by track#.

In Windows Vista or windows 7 you can just drag and drop them to the DVD or CD (you can drag and drop to cd even in XP)
Just select files that you want to burn - right click on them and select option "send to " -> CD/DVD
You wil see a popup on the right bottom corner that will prompt yuo if you want to burn these files.
Just click on that and click "Burn" in the opened window.
Thanx

Is ahead nero 6 I believe. wont read disc's now

The Nero burner has (or had) an incompatibility issue with xp, and I believe it was with Nero 5 or 6 that it first arose...It's possible you're experiencing repercussions from that. You're not alone.
But you say it did work fine for awhile with xp, right? And it will play cd's, right? Let's go through some options...
  • First off, have you ever updated the drivers for the cd-rw device itself? Old firmware that was written for the early days of xp has most likely been updated with newer versions, in part to overcome precisely these sorts of problems. Try to work through the following tutorial and update your hardware drivers. Your system will run smoother as a result. Then try to burn a cd and see if it works.
  • Have you tried burning using the xp burner in windows explorer to burn a cd? (Open explorer, select a file to write to cd, right click it and send to cd-rw drive, then write these files to disc. If that detects the disc, software is probably to blame.
  • You could try a different brand of media. Some cd's are so cheap they barely meet the standards. But you say you've tried this.
  • You might try blowing off the lens inside the cd drive with a puff of compressed air, or purchasing a cd/dvd cleaner disc and running it.
  • You could visit Nero and upgrade to a newer version. You should be able to get a discount if you have a license for the Nero 6. At least make sure your version has all the updates that apply to it installed.
These steps will have ruled out most simple mechanical failures, and device conflicts. If they don't work, I'd suspect a software incompatibility is at the root of the problem...
  • I would not normally recommend it, but you might try running a (****) cleaner utility like CCLeaner on your system. If you've had this system since ME you've accumulated some debris. Before doing so, make sure you back up all important files and make a backup of the registry. You can back up the registry using the Erunt tool, downloaded from here: http://www.aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • Then download CCleaner at this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ and follow this website's instructions to run it: http://www.ccleanerdownload.org/piriforms-ccleaner-the-step-by-step-review-tutorial Initially, try running it without cleaning the registry, just cleaning your temp files, etc. After this scan, reboot your system & run a check of the burner to see if it works.
  • If it's still not working, go to system restore and create a restore point, then run CCleaner with the registry entries selected, and when you're asked if you wish to backup the registry, do so by all means. Read through the lists as you go along, and uncheck anything you'd like to keep. (like certain cookies, passwords, etc.) You can always clear them away at a later time, but for the most part they'll be offered to you again when you revisit sites. Then choose fix selected issues, and check your way through, or fix all at once.
These steps should clear the decks a bit, so to speak, and may in and of themselves get your software working as it should. If you've followed these instructions and still have no success,
I would download IMGburn at http://www.imgburn.com/ and see if it will work instead of Nero.
If not, post back and I'll be happy to assist you further.

Nero 7 burning used for pictures/video

There are many was to burn photo or dvd using nero.
The only thing you need to know is what format your dvd player accepts. If it accepts jpeg or kodack then you can burn staright to the cd.
If your dvd player hase Divx the tiy can burn any media to cd using Divx player. If not then you need to convert the file to dvd format.
Using Nero to make a dvd.

1. click on Nero and select DVD on the top middle and then click on the tab Photo & DVD
2. Then click on MAKE YOUR OWN DVD
this will open a new window here you need to select from the right hand side ADD VIDEO FILES.
3. Once loaded click next and let Nero recode the video format to dvd.
4. Insert a new dvd and burn it

This is the only way to recode a normal video file to dvd format.

Hope it works for you as its worked for me many times in the past.

Good Luck!!

Burning files to DVD..............

Hi,
You should be able to fill a DVD with files and burn using Nero.
Open Nero Smartstart ,Set to DVD,data, make Data DVD
then open a browser window, ie press the windows flag key and "E", locate the directory of files you want to burn, drag them into the Nero page. You should see the progress bar at the bottom of the screen gradually move towards the 4500MB position - this is the maximum for a DVD.
When you have listed all the files you want to burn, press next, change the disc name if you wish. Your DVD drive should be listed above the disc name - something like E:ASUS DRW-1608P3S ( this is my drive) then press "Burn"
If all is well, the drawer will open and you must insert a blank DVD into the drive. The files will then be written to the the disc.

If it does not work let me know and we can investigate further.

cheers

DVD burn in Me

Hi,

To burn DVD video with Nero, u need to buy the DVD video (like DOLBY) plugin from the nero site. Alternatively. u may use some open source plugins for the same,........but not with the Nero!

Try some other free DVD authoring tool on the net.

Examples are available at: http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities/dvdcdburning.shtml

bye

I hope this solves ur problem

Burn image file

Hey there jamesi23, begin with Nero start smart, open it and then choose application Nero Express. The Nero express screen which appears, has video/pictures on the left to choose. Click on it. Then choose DVD Video files on the right. The next screen gives you the Add feature to choose and select from the files on your computer which video VTS files it will burn. They will have to be in VTS or ISO image to be recognised. Choose your file, and open it. This will put it on the burn list for Nero express. Install the DVD blank media in the drive, and press burn when prompted. These are admittedly basic instructions, so if they are not clear enough, or you need further assisstance, please let me know. Good Luck!

Converting .DAT files to DVD Files

I guess that this file is from a VCD? If you just burn that file onto a CD as a data CD it should play in your DVD player. The AVSEQ01.dat file is already a (S)VCD file. It is in MPEG format and should be playable on a DVD player as is. Alternatively you can import the file you want to burn into nero vision. Once it is imported then choose to export the file as an MPEG file or burn direct to DVD. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
