Incompatibility problem with Nero Smart Start and windows xp
I think I'm missing a winaspi32 (?) file. After I burn my dvd, it says "No Disc" on my dvd burner. I'm just learning, please help. How do I get this file back, and have any of you had this problem? Thanks
Re: Incompatibility problem with Nero Smart Start and...
Try to re-install your nero software. then if not works. you try to install your Operating System. Becuase if you try to copy a winaspi32 to other computer, there is posibility not to work in your computer.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

At the point that nero asks to add files or folders from a position, select at the left side of the window the place you want to add files from (desktop, my computer e.t.c.) and continue burning your dvd.
In case of a problem, don't hesitate to post.
Thanks and regards Please kindly rate this solution Stelios
Windows XP supports CD burning. All you have to do is drag the files to the CD and it will ask you if you want to burn them. Tell it yes. You don't need special software. If you want CD burning software, you will have to buy it--probably Amazon.com is the best bet.
Open nero start smart, select DVD, point at Photo and Video, select Burn DVD-Video Files, a window opens, click Add, a small window opens, select DVD video files with extension .VOB, that you want to burn, click Add, then Finished, click Next, select Current recorder: your DVD-burner, select writing speed, number of copies and other options if needed and click Burn
But basically you create 2 folders on your C drive or on your desktop call one xp disc and the other one service pack
copy everything from the xp disc into the xp disc folder and then download and install iso buster ( download link )
And extract the img file as per the guide and then follow the burning instructions with regards to adding the img file using nero or a burning application. If you dont have nero and want to know how to use the img to make it bootable post back with what burning software you have and what version it is and I will find and post back with a relevant guide
There are many was to burn photo or dvd using nero.
The only thing you need to know is what format your dvd player accepts. If it accepts jpeg or kodack then you can burn staright to the cd.
If your dvd player hase Divx the tiy can burn any media to cd using Divx player. If not then you need to convert the file to dvd format.
Using Nero to make a dvd.
1. click on Nero and select DVD on the top middle and then click on the tab Photo & DVD
2. Then click on MAKE YOUR OWN DVD
this will open a new window here you need to select from the right hand side ADD VIDEO FILES.
3. Once loaded click next and let Nero recode the video format to dvd.
4. Insert a new dvd and burn it
This is the only way to recode a normal video file to dvd format.
Hope it works for you as its worked for me many times in the past.
You should be able to fill a DVD with files and burn using Nero.
Open Nero Smartstart ,Set to DVD,data, make Data DVD
then open a browser window, ie press the windows flag key and "E", locate the directory of files you want to burn, drag them into the Nero page. You should see the progress bar at the bottom of the screen gradually move towards the 4500MB position - this is the maximum for a DVD.
When you have listed all the files you want to burn, press next, change the disc name if you wish. Your DVD drive should be listed above the disc name - something like E:ASUS DRW-1608P3S ( this is my drive) then press "Burn"
If all is well, the drawer will open and you must insert a blank DVD into the drive. The files will then be written to the the disc.
If it does not work let me know and we can investigate further.
In my case, MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-860S did not want to write CD-R,-RW Verbatim using software NERO 8, but is easy to write their own software windows XP. in the Log file was as follows:
Could not perform start of Disc-at-once
Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)
Power calibration error
Invalid field in parameter E: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-860S
ACTION! :) Change in method of recording NERO 8 Burning mode: DAO (Disc-at-once) at Burning mode: TAO (Track-At-Once) all have established! Simply drive MATSHITA was UNSUPPORTED software producers to write disks. Updating the software to burn CDs, as is windows XP supports the recording and includes drivers for the drive! :)
