You could try other toner cartridges. If the problem is with a specific colour you can just change that one. If this doesnt work you could put the printer through a few calibrations and see if this helps

Removal of paper stuck in a dell 3115 fuser?

It's best to remove the fuser to get access to it. This video will show you how to remove it, and which levers to move to release tension in the pinch roller to clear the jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjyggtF8d1k After you remove the jam make sure to do a close inspection on the internal roller (use a flashlight). You're looking for any scratches or "dents" in the colored roller (sometimes a deep red/brown color sometimes blue) if there are scratches you are probably going to have to replace the fuser. The imperfections on the fuser roller will show up on your printed pages. If you do need a new fuser you can find them for $160, or the entire rebuild maintenance kit for $375 http://www.fastprinters.com/productdetails.asp?PRODUCT_ID=DELL-UG190

Cartridge error

It can be imperfect contacts, get out the cartridges, and put them back firmly few times. It may help. If not, maybe the contact are dirty or oxidized. Use some fine glass-paper to clean them, the ones on printer since the cartridges are new. If you do not have glass-paper you can carefully try do do the job with the tip of a small flat screwdriver or cutter.

It worked for me. Hope it is the same simple problem at you. Did you tried it with other computer? To be sure that there is not a software problem, like the line for printing tasks.

Printer was printing fine on my document that includes colorful, heavy coverage of ink. But all of the sudden the printing has lines through it that look like barcodes. They aren't in black, but are in...

sounds like your print head needs cleaning
make sure you have ink in the cartridges

open up your printer properties and look for a maintenance section and choose head cleaning
print a test page to comfirm that the head is clean
some printers need a deep cleaning
when the test page comes out without any imperfections, it should print fine.

What is wrong if the colour black, when printed, looks like red?

Hello Dan, hi!, it looks like your printer is either using red as black, it does this when a color is missing, in this case the black ink, the routine is when a color is missing, the printer reproduce that missing color from what ever color is available, so your printout is a near very close imperfect copy. I suggest you clean your printer ink cartridge and cradle for crystallize dried ink. use warn water as a dissolving agent, a damp of warm water on those dried ink will loosen it. Use swab such as ear-buds, to loosen it.

A small spot is printing out repeatedly on all my printing, looks like a blemish on the drum. What do I do? (HL-2140)

If there is a blemish or imperfection on the surface of the drum there is very little you can do to resolve this problem "spot" on the page. This is becuase the surface of the drum is covered in a very sensitive organic photo compound.
When the laser hits this surface it effectively reduces a voltage which should attract the toner to it. Becuase the surface of this film is damaged the laser will have no effect on it and hence the toner will be attracted to it every time you print something.
The only solution is to replace the drum I,m afraid.

Print quality is really bad. does the waste container need to be replaced or can you just empty it? I have replaced the toner cartridges but it still doesnt have good print quality. is there something else...

you can empty the waste toner cartridge or replace them its up to you. if you have to pay for them i would just put them inside of a trash bag and dump away its going to be messy so do it outside. however, that has nothing to do with print quality backgrounding and fine lines come from the photoconductor and developer which are sometimes built into the toner cartrige. jagged lines or imperfect lines usually come from the fusing unit.

Do pixma Mp610 support duplex printing

The MP610 does support duplex printing.

Duplex Printing

The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.
The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:
Performing automatic duplex printing
You can perform the duplex printing without having to turn over the paper.
1. Open the printer driver setup window, check the Duplex Printing check box, and confirm that Automatic is checked.
duplex1.gif
2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.
3. When printing a document that has small margins, click Print Area Setup... and set the print area.
When you perform duplex printing, the print area of the document becomes slightly narrower than usual and the document may not fit on one page.
duplex2.gif
sub.gifTo print without reducing the page:
Select Use normal-size printing.
sub.gifTo reduce the page slightly during printing:
Select Use reduced printing.
4. Specify Staple Side.
The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
5. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.
6. Click OK.
Duplex printing will be started.

Performing duplex printing manually
You can perform the duplex printing manually.
1. Check the Duplex Printing check box and uncheck the Automatic check box on the Page Setup tab.

4. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.
5. Click OK.
sub.gifIf a media type other than Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
When you execute print, the document will be printed on one side of a sheet of paper. When printing is complete, reload paper according to the displayed message and then click OK. The document will be printed on the opposite side.
sub.gifIf Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
When you execute print, the document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.
caution.gif Note sub.gifDuplex Printing is unavailable when:
- A media type other than Plain Paper, Photo Paper Plus Double Sided or Hagaki is selected from the Media Type list.
- Poster Printing is selected from the Page Layout list.
sub.gifWhen Booklet Printing is selected from the Page Layout list, Duplex Printing and Staple Side appear grayed out and are unavailable.
sub.gifAfter printing the front page, there is an ink drying wait time before starting to print the back page (Operation stops temporarily). Do not touch the paper during the time. You can change the Ink Drying Wait Time at Custom Settings on the Maintenance tab of the printer driver.
sub.gifWhen you perform the automatic duplex printing for Hagaki, print an address first and then print your message.

Service Code Error 486

Please contact your local service representative or original point of purchase for help.
The Service Call indicator looking like a spanner or wrench: char_ric20.gif shows that an error requiring inspection by service representative has occurred in the device.
If the problem is a sensor malfunction, you may be able to solve it and turn the indicator off using one of the following methods.
  • Turn the main power of the device off and on again.
  • If some parts or supplies were replaced recently, try removing them, replacing them again, and then turning the main power of the device on off and on. (If the device is interpreting imperfect parts detection as an error.)
  • The device might be interpreting extreme changes in temperature as an error. Turn off the main power switch, wait for a few minutes to cool it off, and then turn it on.
    Note:
    • If a fax is being sent or received, or printer data is being received, turning the main power of the device off may result in data loss. Ensure that the device is not being used for faxing or printing before you try turning the main power of the device off.
Note that "main power" means the actual, physical power switch.

Printer Problem

Is the "imprint" in the same spot on every page?
It the spot white (no toner) or black/color (toner)
Is is most probably an imperfection (scratch) on on of the image drum. You can remove and inspect, just don't thumb the actual drum when you do. It could also be one of the developer units. They can also be replaced.
