Check your transmission fluid level with the engine running and your shifter in Park. When was the last time you had your fluid and filter changed? Could be a plugged filter.

I drive a 2003 VW GTI. Theres a high rev sound after 3rd gear. Sounds like the engine is high reving and gets louder when the car gets faster even when shifting into a higher gear.

It needs rebuilding. The upper gear(s) are not locking in, so your likely wearing out your clutch when you drive fast. Get it rebuilt.

When my 2001 GMC Sierra pickup is idling, I press the gas pedal down all the way and the RPMs only go up to 3000. When I'm driving, it works fine. Any explanation for this?

This is a safety feature for the motor. It is called a rev limiter. This is meant to prevent the motor from reving at high rpms when at idle. This is completely normal

2004 GMC Envoy Idling high

sounds like the throttle plate is stuck try cleaning is out do not push on the throttle plate will damage it. have some one sit in the vehicle with their foot on the pedal take a tooth brush and some carb cleaner clean both side of the plate and inside the housing the best you can and see if the stops it.

2003 Started reving high in 2nd when trying to shift to 3rd gear. Its an automatic transmission. No problems before this. No Slipping, No Hard Shifting.

Check the fluid while the engine is on in park..
If fluid is not low - it could be a vacume or modulator issue.. (the modular tells the trani when to shift via vacume presure)
Some shops give free estimates.

I start my suv and it dies. If I start it a second time it will continue running and I can drive it. I have changed gas stations and added a fuel injector cleaner, but nothing works. It has 72563 mi

It seems that there is a delay in fuel delivery to the engine. Check the fuel filter, the most common problem for fuel delivery. Hope this helps . Moe
