Yes you can add a subwoofer. you will need an amplifier and feed the signal to the amp with your subwooder output rca jacks on the back of the radio. this will give you control over the sub.

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP435U radio in my car and when ever I turn in up kinda loud it will shut off and come back on on its own. Any idea why this is or how I can fix it?

The wattage of the speaker is higher than the required wattage of the stereo. The stereo cannot drive the speaker very well. Use an amplifier if you want to have a loud sounds. Or if you already have sound set-up make sure that you have a capacitor for your amplifiers and fuses to support the power input to your stereo.

I have lost my code to my kenwood stereo. I have a the model KDC-MP435U. How do I unlock it?

Kenwood cannot be unlocked without the code on line. This has to go to Kenwood or a radio de-coding company.
Sorry but at least you know.
Good luck with it, Dave

I get the word Protect flashing on my Kenwood kdc-mp4345u

check your speakers and speaker wires for shorts. if there are none try disconnecting power to the radio for a few minutes. if protect still comes on you may have a bad ouput ic.

I can't play my iphone on my kenwood KDC-MP435U

Jennifer, I have the same issue. the problem is that the 2007+ generations of Kenwood receivers are not compatible with the iPhone. You will need to get a 2009+ series in order to use your iPhone with the head unit. I had the same issue with the Kenwood KDC-MP435U in my mustang. I am going to get a newer head unit that supports the iPhone. You cannot do it with the MP435U.

I want to upgrade my Kenwood KDC-MP435U sound

1. your charging system is your only limitation for watts but you can add plenty without upgrading it. i'd say 1,000 watts max on the stock batter and alternator with large power and ground cables of at least 4 gauge.

2. yes. using your subwoofer rca outputs.

3. for a subwoofer you should always ad an amp. i'd say a 3-400 watt amp is fine to match up with you kenwood speakers. you will need a small sub to fit in there or maybe one slim enclosure behind each seat with slim 8" subs
