Aspire 5315 touchpad not working

My Acer Aspire 5315-2326 touchpad isn't working. I tried the FN-F7 combo, and I tried resetting the defaults in BIOS, and I tried going through the Control Panel. Nothing works. My pointer just sits in the middle of the screen. It doesn't respond to the touchpad or buttons. Help!

Try and attach a USB mouse. Then uninstall the driver. restart your computer and reinstall the driver. Also clean with some spray to make sure there is no dirt which is causing the problem.

Thanks

Im on my niece acer aspire 5534 laptop and her mouse touchpad isnt working can u help

There should be an image on the number or function rows of the keyboard that is colored the same color as the FN key. On that look for the one that resembles the touch pad, press and hold the FN key then press the touchpad key to activate the touchpad. I think it is the F7 key.

My touchpad is not working on my acer aspire 5315 my cat walked over keyboerd when i was using it and curser has gone what can i do

Hi there,
Your Touchpad is disabled, thats why its not working, to enable again, simply press Fn+F7 Key, you will see a small blue icon on F7 key, with a finger pointing, its basically a short cut for enabling/disabling Touchpad,
If it doesnt works, restart your laptop once, and restore the BIOS settings to default, save the settings and reboot laptop, and it should be working again,
Feel free to reply to this post if you require more assistance,

Mousepad not working

Hello,

Each Touchbad should have basic functionality by default in every Operating system, letting it be used even when no driver is installed. However, try pressing FN and F7 together and see if the touchpad works again. Some people accidently press this FN + F7 key when they mute the sound with the FN + F8 key.

The FN + F7 is there to disable/enable the touchpad as some people use a USB mouse instead of the touchpad.

If you still need the drivers, here are the download links. Please choose desired driver by Operating system and Touchpad brand...

Good Morning: I have an Acer Aspire 5920

Hello,

As by your description, the FN F7 key combo did not solve the problem. Please restart the machine , press F8 then select from the list "Safe mode" then press enter. Then see how the Touch pad reacts in Safe mode. If it works perfectly in safe mode, we can assume you have a software problem that is preventing it from working in normal windows mode.

Please download and install the latest BIOS for your machine. The E525 has a issue where the TP just stops working, upgrading the BIOS solves the issue on the E525...

Touchpad not working

first step is to go to your touchpad properties via the control panel and make sure everything looks ok. If the settings are ok, then go to your BIOS (when you turn on the laptop you will get an option to press escape or delte or F2 to go to the settings/BIOS. Once here, go ahead and look for an option to reset all settings to their default state. Save the settings and restart the computer. Hope this helps.

Frozen touchpad

Did you try the Fn+F7 combo, the F7 is usually assigned to the touchpad and is indicated by an icon that's relevant.

This works on most notebooks to turn on or off the touchpad.

Let me know, as this can also be turned on or off in the bios setup pages. Press F2 or F10 (it varies) to enter your bios setup screens. In these pages is a setting for touch pad only, mouse only or touch pad and mouse or serial. You might check that.
