What color is the wire for the subwoofer on the Kenwood KDC-400U

The sub-woofer isn't connected to the wiring harness of the KDC-400U. It has to be wired separately. Then the sub-woofer input gets connected to the KDC-400U sub-woofer out using R/L audio wires as show on page 13 of the Quick Start Guide. The direct link to the Quick Start Guide is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/4fd9a24acb9fa.pdf . You may be able to use the wiring information on pages 12-13 to help you determine which wires aren't going to the sub-woofer.

Most Kenwood Car audio manuals are available here: http://manual.kenwood.com/en_contents/search/ .

I wish that I could give you more information.

I want to connect kenwood woofer sw-07 to pioneer amplifier vsx-d859tx. i am unable to connect please guide me.

Hello,

I don't recall correctly if your Pioneer has a sub out RCA connector, and if the Kenwood SW-07 has a low level input. So the usual way is to connect it using the speaker wires.
You connect either the FL or the FR to the sub and it should work.

Good luck

I have a velodyne sub woofer needs amp power source I have a kenwood eq and a sony reciever trying to figure out how to hook it all up right

So, you don't have a powered Velodyne sub (with a built in amp?)

Without model numbers - I"ll guess that there are speaker in and out connections on the back of the sub.

You simply connect the left and right speaker wires from the receivers to the subwoofers input speaker wire connections.

Then connect your main speakers from the sub's Out (or "speaker"} connections so that the sub is in line with the speaker path.

Use the sub's crossover settings on the back till you hca a seamless blend of the sub to the speakers where it is hard to tell you have a sub other than you your music now has deeper bass.

Why do you need the Kenwood EQ? This is not a necessary piece as nobody really knows how to use it properly and it realy complicates how you use your system. Flashing lights look cool though, right?

If you really must complicate the operation of your system then connect the Tape output of your receiver to the tape input of the Kenwood EQ, Then connect the Tape output of the Kenwood EQ to the Tape input of your receiver - assuming your receiver even has tape ins and outs.

You can engage the Kenwood EQ by inserting it into the audio path when you select the appropriate Tape input as the source on your receiver.

Hope this helps.

How do I adjust my subwoofer bass level for my kenwood kdc-138 car tereo

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Support/Car_Entertainment_Owners_Manuals/ You can download the manual from Kenwoods site. While the unit is in Standby mode, press the B.Boost button for a second or two. You should now be in the Menu. Select SWPRE. Now chose SW from the (R*/SW) options. The output of your CD player is now a dedicated sub woofer output. I hope this is what you meant. There are many settings regarding the sub woofer and generally the sound in whole. Getting the manual is highly advisable. dreamsystems.

I do not know how to set the settings on my new amp i have pioneer speakers but i don't want burst them how far can i turn up my amp

if the amp is for speakers, i would set it around +4, for boost, just have the head unit sound level on low before you turn your music on, it won't burst your speakers, your ears will give out way before your speakers does, if the amp is for sub woofer, I have it a little more than my speakers level, because i prefer more bass

Connecting a car stereo to an amplifier

you have to connect your 4 speakers to 4 speakers output direct to your car stereo no need of amplifier to 4 speaker but speakers should be small not like a woofer, and you have to connect your sub woofer by using amplifier don't connect direct. connect the output of your car stereo (using 2 RCA) to the 2 RCA inputs of amplifier. If u connect your 4 speakers to your amplifier then your car stereo does not support Left Right channel.
You can also connect your laptop or iPod direct to your amplifier.
Good Luck

Just bought a new car. i removed old stereo and put in my kenwood kdc-w808. whenever there is base in a song it distorts i have to turn my base rite down to get rid of it. worked perfectly well in my old...

your speakers probably cant handle the bass.,also they are probably full range speakers ,so hwen the base hits at the same time a voice is singing the woofer is vibrating to produce the basss,there fore distorting the highs and mids {or voice}.You need to add a seperate sub woofer.And puyt capicitossr on the full ranfge speakers to limit the bass..Rating please. :}
