Re: unable to install printer to computer
You may want to try updating your Windows Installer (try here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5FBC5470-B259-4733-A914-A956122E08E8&displaylang=en) then try installing again. Let me know how that works for you!

scanning through bluetooth is not possible
bluetooth module only pairs the computer and printer and has link only to the basic driver of the computer
so you can only print from it
if you want to scan you should connect te usb cable or use a wireless upgrade kit

On the Connect Your Device Now window, selectIf you are unable to connect your device now, click this box and then click Next to finish installing the software. You can connect your device later.
Follow the instructions that display on the screen to complete the software installation.
How long ago did you purchase the printer? Does it have the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo on the box? If not, it won't work with Vista at all.
I checked Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List and it says the HP Photosmart C3100 series is *certified* with Vista, however it does not say it *works* with Vista.
Per the link, the driver may be part of the Windows Update. Give that a try, as well as HP's website. Otherwise you may need to take it back and exchange it for a Vista-certified printer.
Let me know how it works out!
