Check for updates for both the sound drivers and Firefox. Also, test another browser and see if issue persists. If problem is only present in Firefox, follow the steps here to see if this helps.

devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

It is most likely and electrical problem within the speakers themselves.
Contact Logitech to see if you can get a warranty replacement. If you go to their web site, you might be able to catch a live chat customer service. Not on a Sunday though, try Monday or Tuesday:

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
if you dont have a motherboard disk you will need to download the sound drivers
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the
(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
