Dishwasher Jenn Air JDB-5, fills, won't run cycle after filter was cleaned.
I cleaned the filter, due to the dishwasher whining during the cycle. I had read that a dirty filter can cause this noise. I followed directions I found online, unplugged the unit and removed the appropriate parts and put them back in as I had removed them. The filter was very dirty, I cleaned it and the area where it was resting, taking care to replace everything I had disturbed that was related to the dishwasher.
I put it back together, and put a cup of vinegar on the top rack, and ran a short cycle. The unit ran great, i could hear the water splashing around inside, and it was super quiet. I was very excited. I loaded the dishwasher up and now it just fills, after a minute or so it stops filling and, i can hear a faint hum, this will go on for about 2 or so minutes, and then the unit will just simply go dark, all the LEDs turn off, no cycle runs, soap isn't dispensed, the unit doesn't even drain the water. Any ideas what I could have done to cause this behavior?

Try aplianceprosparts.com , they have all the diagrams for upper , lower and middle racks , and doors also , I ordered some rollers for a jenn air dishwasher last week and they delivered the part very fast and that was regular shipping, also the best price around , some other web site had it for 50 bucks + taxes and I paid 38 bucks + taxes and s&h! good luck.
Hi Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due
to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that
the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is
present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and
drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump
completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller &
clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the
complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps...
Please post back for any further assistance. Daniel
If you can hear the water running - but it's not filling, you most likely have a drain problem, which is being stuck open. Usually the motor kicks in and either pumps the water through the wash arms (during wash cycle) or through the drain (during drain cycle) the switch that/or flap could be stuck on the drain and it is pumping it out the drain all the time instead of the wash arms.
If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound. If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.
perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.
If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is toadd some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well. You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass. Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.Other things to try: CLR on the spray nozzles to loosen up cloggs.Check the filters to be sure they are clear.
