Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console

Open Question

I can connect to Xbox Live, but I cannot join multiplayer on Borderlands 2.

Every time I attempt to join a friend in Borderlands 2, I get the message Connection Failed. The connection to the host failed. You cannot join the game session. I didn't have this problem until two weeks ago.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

SOURCE: ip address failed

If you are behind a router.. try hooking it up directly to your cable modem or DSL modem. If that fixes the problem then you need to open ports on the router to allow the connect to get routed to your xbox.

SOURCE: xbox live cant connect mtu failed

My guess is that it has something to do with the Xbox live server maintenance. They should have the servers up and running right now if they are on schedule. I'm assuming they're still down because I tested the connection during the day on Monday and the MTU failed like it does now. Hopefully things will be working when I get up in the morning.......damn Microsoft lol

How do i fix my conection on my xbox 360 it will let me join certain friends games but others not so much do you know whats up

It probably doesn't have to do with your connection, but rather the connection of the person that you are trying to connect to. When someone hosts a game, the connections of everyone who is in that game are directly affected by the strength of the host's connection. This is why you can join some friends but not others.

1) Clear your browsers out
Download 'ccleaner' and use it daily. Run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan
Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors.Never make changes to your Registry without saving the information.

Open Internet Explorer (even if you use another browser as default) > Tools > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings > Uncheck all the boxes and check "Automtically detect settings" > Save > Save
