Question about HP Compaq Presario CQ50-103NR Notebook PC
In the problem report and solutions it says Problem Event name APPCRASH
Clean up computer using Ccleaner. Clean temp files, registry etc. Check disk using run cmd chkdsk c: /f /r
Uninstal crashing app and reinstall

it might of crashed main files of your hard drive. you may need to reformat your Hard Drive. NOTICE: by doing this you will loose everything on your hard drive. All music, pictures and EVERYTHING will be lost! comment back if you want to continue formatting

when turning on the system go into the BIOS and reset back the seeting s to factory defaults and reboot the system .. If this fails then reseat the Hard drive may have come loose or ?
did you recently add new software ? drivers ? hardware?

The problem is that XP installation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a Compaq SATA drive on a disk etc and can install it when XP asks for a hard drive driver, then XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.
Go into the BIOS and disable the SATA drive, this will make XP think it is a IDE/PATA hard disk. Then install XP normally, and all the device drivers (including the SATA driver), then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

It may be the operating system has not recognized all the ports, if you operating system is now ok, go to my computer>properties>hardware>device manager, and look to bottom of the list to USB Controllers.
Right click on them, and Uninstall all controllers and restart pc and see if all the ports are recognized and installed automatically.
If the problem is same resotore your os.
