Question about Husky Electrical Supplies

Open Question

Have husky 6250 Generator. Have Carb problems. Where is carb located and how to you take it apart? Anyone know where I can get an instruction or schematic for the thing?

Trying to clean it out with Carb cleaner.

how old was the fuel in the tank and carb bowl? This could have built up varnish and make the float heavier
Another issue that my customers bring in are 4 stroke generators that have 2 stroke fuel put in tank.

SOURCE: I can get my G1000M generator not running.

Fuel - air mix incorrect. Clean airfilter, and probably adjust idle settings. Open way up while running to clear any debris in the needle valve - then close off again untill stall - open up and adjust for correct idle.

SOURCE: i have a coleman powermate premium plus 6250

if you are running the engine at full CHOKE, then it is flooding the engine, but if you meant off full choke, then the carb is still stopped up. Try soaking in carb cleaner overnight after removing jet & all rubber goods. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Before doing anything buy some "Start" gas additive. I found it at Wal-Mart for $7.00 a can. Use as directed. This will clean the smudge from the carb and allow the gas through. If not, try tightening the bolts that hold the carb to the engine. If they are loose the carb will breathe air and not gas. If still not running, clean the carb and jet real well. Bill...

Looking for a carb for a Coleman Powermate 500/6250 generator with a 10hp Briggs and Sratton engine...any suggestions?


As it is a Briggs Engine most quality Briggs dealers can get the carb. It isn't special to Coleman I don't believe.

Husky generator 1850 watt wont stay running


does ithave fresh gas theres a chance there is water in the gas if thats not the case is the choke could be stuck on or the carb. is gummed up

I have a coleman powermate premium plus 6250 generator,put in new plug ,new filter ,changed oil,cleaned the carb,put in new gas. runs ok at half choke but when go full choke it starts backfiring and runs...

Check the oil level. The protection on low oil level may have stopped it.

Coleman 6250 PoweLeaking gas at bottom of motor housing. Can not


The gas is leaking from carb but in the motor not out.
You should check and repair the carb flow valve. The floating unit may be full and bent down.
