Shut down due to fault in the harddrive, or defective Ram Memory module? SHUT DOWN? Really? And how does that work?

Ram does not last forever, and not even harddrives (bad sectors) try to remove the ram modules and insert one at the time. And blow the mainboard out for dust

Know how a computer works after you press the Power On button? There is always a 5 Volt Standby power present, when the Power Supply is plugged into power. Pressing the Power On switch re-directs this 5 Volt DC power in the Power Supply. The Soft Power On circuit is initialized. This 'excites' the Power Supply, and turns it on. The first chipset to recieve power is the BIOS chipset. The Basic Input/Output System program is initialized. BIOS looks to see what devices are installed, does a Ram Memory count, and turns the Processor on, then hands the computer over to the Operating System. Processor has been turned on. It waqs shut off by BIOS right off the bat. Wrong values were sensed by BIOS. The Processor turns off due to overheating. A fail safe feature that keeps the Processor from burning up.

Try removing the laptop from the doc, pulling out the battery, hold the power button down for 10-20 seconds, and re-install the battery.

This should drain out the laptop and it should boot up properly without the dock.

How do i get e machines out of safe mode so i can reboot the computer?

If you are in safe mode, you should be able to shut down or restart the computer the same way you would in standard mode. Click the start button and select shut down or restart, and let it boot up normally. If you do not have the start button, you can try holding down control-alt-delete and selecting shut down from the menu. If all else fails you can hold down the power button on the computer for about ten seconds and the computer should power off, then you can turn it back on.

E-machine computer will not shut down

When you say "it will not shut down", are you referring to clicking on start and then shut down?

You could try forcing a shut down by holding the power switch down for about 5 seconds.
