Question about HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Bad print outs.

I have a HP 6310 all in one machine, since last week the prints outs are very bad, like missing print, repeated printing of one line of text, gaps in prints, etc. It is really bad if I print from a internet page, but if I copy and past the same text and print from noted pad it is better not great. Please help me in fixing this problem.

    I tried the cleaning utility, same problem again the test text printed out OK but the color boxes at the bottom are messed up.
    Then I tried Align print cartridge, no luck there , still print out are missing, overlapping, looks like it is trying to reprint again and again.

    I see one particular line of text three times, please advice.

You could try putting your printer through a few cleans and calibrations. If this doesnt work try changing the ink cartridges, as one may have a damaged printhead

Hiya I have just changed the black cartridge to the printer, and it is printing half lines.


This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

HP 6310 print problem-prints first 10 lines OK then next 10 are on a new page etc. Re-booting PC fixes problem.


Please check the Page selecton
check the page setup click on file -click on pagesetup
Press Ctrl+P
Check the layout settings
Check print priver if print privew is ok then its software issue
Check the printer drivers

When I print, the copies have lines missing. the cartridge is new.


If you first choose " Print Preview" and all lines are there try printing from there.If still missing lines I think your program, driver files are bad, reinstall them.If you print normal from print preview I would reinstall just driver files.Good Luck.

Hp 6310 show offline wont print


Hi, how do you connect to the printer? USB/parallel/Network? Does it prints fine if you print an information page from the printer display/butons? I would try to uninstall the printer driver and install it again to start. It's definately a communication problem so it may take a few tries to get it to work again.

It is a bad Toner Cartridge or Fuser. Most likey a bad toner cart.

Poor quality output


Hi If your printer has been left unused for a while your print head is clogged.

You need to unclog it with a print head cleaning kit like Magic Inkjet Flush or if in a rush give it the Magic sauna treatment.

Heres how:
1. Remove print head
2. Hold print head directly in escaping steam from a kettle for 5/10 seconds only
3. Wait 5 seconds and sit it print head down onto a paper towel untill you get an inky foot print.
4. Print test.
5. If any white lines repeat above.
6. Also try wrapping in a paper towel and FLICK DOWNWARDS to put fresh ink into print head after steaming.
