Question about Daewoo DTQ-25S2FC 25" TV

No picture/sound on tv after connecting standard dvd player and inserting dvd

I have a daewoo tv circa 2001 that is in excellent working order. however, when i connected a new lg dvd player and switched on the tv/video button on the remote (the equivalent of an AV channel), i get absolutely no sound or picture, despite the dvd being connected and switched on. there is no apparent way to tune the av channel, only on/off function. what could be the problem here? is the tv incompatible with the dvd player? The dvd player is standard

How many av inputs do you have on that tv? is it more than one? make sure you choose the right input. if that is not the problem then you are having a problem with av section in the tv I suggest that you take it to a repair man to get it fixed or you can use the RF cable to connect it to your tv. it is not the best but is saloution to the problem..good luck

Cannott get a picture on my tv from my DVD/VHS COMBO

Your DVD player should be connected to either the Yellow White Red connections on your TV set (same color to same color -- dvd OUT to tv IN )

OR it should be connected using the RF cables and connected inline AFTER the Direct TV Box....the box would block the DVD; and possibly the Direct TV Master box would apply 19 Volts to the DVD modulator....destroying the modulator.

Always OUTput to INput on the connections...

Also try with a new set of connections. make sure all the ports are ok.

I cant get a picture only sound not sure its in the right plug?

if your tv and dvd player are good yes might be you have a wrong connection. this is how a proper connection between your tv and dvd player.
  1. first step in connecting a dvd player to a tv unit is determined what kind of connection you want to make, this usually determined to the outputs and inputs available on the dvd player and tv unit.
  2. if you are using a plasma or a lcd tv usually the inputs are: composite inputs- lets you connect a component source like a dvd, vcr, and laser disc. component inputs - lets you connect another component source such as a dvd player. DVI-HDTV - lets you connect an HD receiver with a DVI output.
  3. for example if you select the composite input what you need is a RCA plug which usually a 3 color plug.this picture is an example of commercial rca plug which usually the color yellow use for video and the red and white color for audio.vinceisaac.jpg.
  4. this is how you will connect those wire into your dvd player and tv unit.look for the component output jack of your dvd player .this picture is a sample of component output jack the color may vary depending tovinceisaac_0.jpgkind of brand or dvd player do you have.
  5. now get your RCA plug then the yellow plug insert it to the Y or video out the red and white plug insert it to the left and right AUDIO out of your dvd player.
  6. now look for the composite inputs jack of your TV unit then get the other end of RCA plug. the yellow plug must be insert it to the V label for video the red and white plug into L/R label which mean for audio input.
  7. after you connect the 3 wires re check all the connections make sure the RCA plug is good and properly inserted to avoid loose contact which can affect the picture and sound quality.
  8. now turn on your dvd player and tv unit.
  9. make sure your tv unit is set to right input you want to use like for example you are using the video 1 input, you need to set to the remote controller into video 1 so that your dvd player must be recognized by your tv. enjoy watching i hope it will help you thanks for choosing fixya as your solution to fix you problem good luck.

I have bought a new Blu-Ray player, a BDP-S570, which I am trying to connect to my LG TV. The TV is a 50PX4D and has one HDMI port that I have previously used to connect a Sky HD box to with excellent...

There are no compatibility issues. In your BluRays HDMI audio settings set the audio out to PCM instead of bit stream. The TV cannot decode digital bit stream audio.

I have a 13 inch Daewoo color TV model, DTQ-14P1FC I want to connect a Dvd player to it but I don't see any place on the back for video connection. Is there a way to connect a Dvd player to this t.v.?

you need rca connectors or hdmi connectors. if you only have the round cable tv style connector, you will need a modulator to connect to first

No sound on TV

If the TV programs come's up with sound, then is possible that the TV set could be problem free. then cheek the system frequency if it need to be adjust from NTCS, PAL, AUTO MESECAM and so on. Cheek the DVD and VCR if they are in one of the following system settings and adjust the TV set to the settings at which the DVD or VCR is set to. Then you can also cheek if the cable is properly inserted, that is audio to audio and video to video. Nevertheless, if you have properlly connected your cables and set the system frequency to match with each other, and still no sound, then the TV could have sound problem.

Possible courses of sound failure in TV are as follows:-
1 RF stage
2 sound Ics or transistors
3 broken speakers
4 a break down resistor which supplie positive voltage to the sound curcult

Green Picture

The problem sounds like one I had. If so, the cause is as follows.

The Daewoo ouputs synchronisation information on the green channel of the RGB outputs (which are pins in the SCART socket) The Panasonic TV automatically preferentially selects the RGB input in the SCART rather than the composite video signal in the SCART. The video circuits in the Panasonic should ignore the sync on the green channel but instead interpret the sync as green signal information which means the adjustment of the green channel is upset leading to a very green picture.

Possible solutions:
1. From the TV, manually select composite video input, not RGB. This may not be possible - I think the TV automatically goes for the RGB if it is present.
2. Disconnect the wire to pin 16 in the SCART socket. This is the signal from the VCR/DVD to indicate that RGB is available. Disconnecting it means the TV defaults to the composite video. This is what I did.
3. Connect the TV to the VCR/DVD using component or S-VHS leads only.
