Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines

Open Question

My Saeco Royal Professional brew unit is blocked. I cleaned it and the message goes away sometimes and then the gear won't turn the brewing unit so it can connect with the water valve. When I trick the switches and leave door open, I only see the gear turning clockwise when it needs to turn the other way in order to move the brewing unit correctly so water can come out. Maybe a reset would do but not sure what the deal is. Now is showing the brew unit block message again. Help!

I think if there is way I can reset the unit gear, this will fix it, but as of now it still keep on turning on reverse therefore it thinks the brew unit is blocked.

SOURCE: brew unit blocked message The brew unit removed

I had the same issue. Very difficult to fix. You must remove brew unit and reset the machine while apart. You must trick the machine to think brew unit is installed and door closed. Look at door and brew unit and use screwdriver or butter knife to engage machine and run through cycle to reset.

Hi
Sorry to tell you but Brew Unit Block is usually the CPU or the main board going bad. It is usually caused by a constant drag on the brew unit causing more power going to the drive motor causing the CPU and the main board to heat up weaking the CPU or main board to the failure point. To much coffee going into the brw unit and causing the brew drive motor to work harder to compress the coffee will also do the same. You will have to replace the CPU or the main board. It is usually the CPU.

Hi, My saeco royal cappuccino is displaying, brew unit block. It has been checked and all is clear. It was suggested that maybe it was the gearbox? Is this possible, if so do you have an exploded view of...

the saeco brew unit is the same as a Miele brew unit from a cva 615. check to see if there are any Miele service centers near you. The brew unit needs to be lubricated with food grade silicone grease every 30 days. if you dont do that, the plastic gears in the gearbox can and will strip. Try to find another brew unit and see if it works with a different one. If not, you may need to send it in to a repair center.

W/o manual I have a brew unit miss message?

Hi
Open the door on the right. The brew unit is the thing with the handle that has the push on it. You need to push on the upper left side of the brew unit until it clicks. There is an outlet spout on the opposite side of where you are pushing. It goes into an intake port that needs to be lubed, so the outlet spout will slide in without pushing back. That should take care of the missing brew unit.

The machine makes funny noises at start up then no water goes through the brew group.

The brew unit needs to be lubricated, and the shower screen needs to be cleaned.

No coffee, water going to the drip tray

OK, so this is a problem with your brew unit. The unit is not cycling correctly to tell the water to come through.

We had another problem like this just this week.

The wat we fixed it was 1) Give the Brew Unit a really good clean. 2)Make sure the Brew Unit can complete a cycle - manually rotate the brew unit components through a cycle 3) Lubricate the Brew Units moving parts if necessary using some Saeco or Other Food Grade Lubricant

Then try watch a complete coffee cycle by leaving the side door of your machine open, and tricking the micro switches into thinking the door is closed by engaging them with some card or something similar.

Let us know if this does not resolve your issue.

Loud clicking and no coffee

Looks like your brew drive gears may be stripped. You should have a professional look at it because some must be causing the struggle to happen.
