yes ign. on and reset several times. 1) by disconnecting the battery for an hour and overnight, 2) making sure the capacitors were discharged tapping the disconnected lugs together and then retrying the code reader with the ign. on

There was no number showin.?On the scranner.Errow would mean it is not connecting to the pcm for some reason,Did you have the ignition switch in the start Position when you had the scran tool hooked up,? If not the sran tool will not show the code,Is the check engine light on? While Driving the truck? If it is on costantly it is a more serious problem, If it blinks on end off, It is not that serious of a problem. What Type of OBD2 reader did they use? Like from my Knolledge from the code reader that i use?Error means it did not communicate with the (PCM) In the Vehicle,,What ezacltly is the truck doing?

  • Rocky Degelman Oct 27, 2012

Did you have the ignition switch turn on to the start position? It has to be turn on in order for the code reader to link, It explians that in the manual for the code reader.

  • Rocky Degelman Oct 27, 2012

You mean the caps in the (PCM) ? That is probably why the code reader is showing (Error)Becuase you do not have to discharge the capacitors, The code reader draws verry little power to work,End will not damage the (Caps) You have the same code reader as i use, I was just looking in the instucion book that come with mine, End it shows a specail note staying (For Ford vehicles only an instuctnal message) There is a customer support techical number you can call to get asststance help,1-800-554-4124.(PS) I call them before when i brought mine it was set on french end i could not get it off ,I call the number the guy that i talk to was verry help full end not evan a minute he told me how to get it to (English)

Not helping or understanding the situation

  • Rocky Degelman Oct 28, 2012

I understand the situation, You are not looking at what the manual tells you about ford vehicles, Because if you did look at it end read what it saids, End followed the Instuctions on the screen of the code reader when you have it hooked up, If you new what you were doing you would have codes showing on the screen of the code reader,End Eror whould not be showing on the (Sreen) You evan no what (Eror) Means, Ask your (Kids) to explatn it to you.,

Looked through the manual again and no notes specifically on Ford. The obd2 tool only indicates power from the computer and a link symbol then after 15 seconds it switches from read to error

  • Rocky Degelman Oct 28, 2012

Well you are not dealing with a rookie either,But you can not evan answer simple (Qestions) For a person, I am a retired (Certified) ElectronicsTech,End all so a(Cretified) Mechanic with 38 years (expierance) under my belt, You are not dealing with a (Amature) You can,t help people that can,t follow simple (Instuctions) Or under stand what you are asking them, End don,t no what (Eror) means.

How do fix TCM and ECM

Hello, It is not just a simple answer to your question of fixing tcm and ecm Depending on the issue you with the TCM or ECM you will need all the proper tools and maybe the Mazda software. even if you have all these things, you still need the knowledge on how to use them or you can damage the ECM TCM very easily. If you have an OBD2 scan tool then you can scan the codes and clear them. The light should go out. If it comes back on then scan the codes again and post them here. I will tell you what you need to do. The code will start with a letter then four numbers, like this P0301 or P1611 or something like that. I am here to help, -Tim

83-1 permanent dtc ecm relation failure

sounds like an OBD2 comm failure, mine (i have 10) all show comm loss. but.. can be blown fuses killing OBD2 DLC pin 16 (not 12v)
also, of your car is newer and the scan tool is older, it can fail.
newer scan tools work on all cars here. in usa. all, obd2 1996 and newer. (i build oBD2 gauges and can go endless here... comms...)

no Pxxxx code?
what scanner?, there are many. some are junk.
is this a USA car, when posting nobody knows,
in fact, cars up to 2006 world wide, don't have OBD2 ECUs/PCMs.
not posting where car was 1st sold , is a failure.
if you are in usa, we can access the online FSM and look this up.
we use.
alldata.com
or
mitchels.

lets back up. (a real scan tool not a funky useless code reader)
you, make sure pin 16 is hot.
you plug in scan tool (newer) if car has CAN buss? the tool too must be CAN BUSS CERTIFIED.?
you key on. not started.
you push the scan button, no comm fails, you see TPS throttle angle.
and ECT engine temp and air temp and RPM is 0
all that not started enigne yet, if you cant get there, wrong car, wrong tool.
if the engine runs, the tool must scan, if not pin 16 dead.
or wrong scan tool.

Code #124155

4.0L
or
5.2L?
where did you see this? 1995 is cusp year before OBD2 tech.
the scan tool shows P0xxx or P1xxx codes. OBD2.
did you leave out spaces???? in the above.
12 = normal or No Reference Pulses to the ECM
41= - No Distributor Reference Signal
55?=Faulty Oxygen Sensor or ECM

12 is normal key on, no start. and bad running. I THINK?
really old car. but the FSM covers this
as does alldata.com

Engine misfire

First thing to do is scan the the ECM for error codes. Plug any OBD device to OBD2 port which is under the steering column side of dashboard and look for trouble codes. ELM327 scanning devices work fine with Honda

Hello. I have Isuzu Rodeo 2004. The OBD2 test shows failure of the P0602 I want to know what the problem says. ? Is there a way to fix the problem without replacing the part? Also I do not feel any car...

That's an ECM fault code. If you feel it's an error, easy way to confirm.
Take it to your local Autozone, Advance, etc autoparts store and have them do a FREE fault scan. They come out to your car, scan the faults, then reset your lights. Get the list from them and if ECM error comes up again then you know it actually has an issue.

My car wont start. when i try to turn it on an exclamtion mark on

The indicator light tells you that the computer is generating an error code.

To determine what is causing your problem, you need to have the OBD2 port scanned. If you take the car to a local repair shop or auto parts store, they can use their scan tool to download the trouble codes.

From there, the can tell yoy what the codes mean and present possible solutions for you to consider.

2001 new beetle won't start has new battery

I have a 2003 new beetle TDI. I have got error codes on my ECM that have stopped my engine from starting. I got an OBD2 reader from the auto parts store. I plugged it into the OBD2 port below the steering wheel and got the error codes. After writing them down, I cleared the codes. the car started fine. It has pulled this a couple times over three years. I carry an OBD2 reader with me so I can clear the codes and get going again. Good Luck
