the switchmode powersupply ticks like its going into shut down/ protect mode. the output voltage fluctuate everytime it ticks. i have removed all power draw from the logic and inverter boards by removing jumpers from key circuits. The only thing i didnt mess with was the 5 volt section as it has the feedback circuit for the switching pwersupply.

Have you checked the power output from the power board? Is it constant and steady? Try reflowing all the joints if you haven't already. Especially transformer and coil joints. Maybe a bad logic board? Do you have spares to try? Does it do this with everything disconnected from the pwr board (switch, logic, inverter)?

What is the output voltage at if not 5v/13v. Is it jumping up and down? Or just nada?

Samsung has standby light, it blinks tone sounds no green light. Replaced t-con, power supply and control boards.

Hi Patrick,

have a close look at your LVDS cable and screen ribbons for signs of failure or heat damage, and you could try to pull a picture from an AV output in various formats to see if it's the screen itself is failing in some way,

regards

if you can do soldering work, replace two 1000uF10v bulging capacitor with 1000uF 16v or 25v in powersupply board. you will save $200.

My dell desktop is just making a ticking noise and won't turn on

If it is beep sound the problem may be with the Ram. Remove the ram and refix it. If the problem not solved replace the ram

TV will turn on for 2-3 seconds and then turn off

Unplug power cord- safety first!
open backcover
check powersupply- top center right is p.s.
top left side of powersupply you'll see 5 capacitor 3300uF 10V.
see any pop up on top? replace it All with same rate or 16v is O.K.
do not use temperature rate 75c. Use 105C.
if you know how to solder. you could save $300 at least! Mahalo!

Samsung 172N 17" LCD monitor blacks out seconds at a time with increasing frequency and eventually displays scrambled graphics until system restart.

The problem I have is that when we connect the screen it wiorks fine then blacks out after 5-40min
It then flickers on and off iregularly and every now and then shows distortion and eventually just blacks out

I have two 172N monitors and both now show the same symptoms

We have used different VGA cables and different computers in different locations all with the same result

There is no external influence that we know

Lens out, Camera on, power light flickers on and off

Hey kyla_peyton,
If this camera turns off during use it should mean either the batteries have gone dead or there is a malfunction in the camera. It sounds like you have eliminated the chance that this is a battery failure. There are many malfunctions in the camera that could cause this so I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
