Spray Nozzles not working

The unit seems to start out fine by filling with water but it no longer makes the noice is used to. I do not think the spray nozzles are turning. As soon as I open the door I do not see them turning. The back of the unit is not covered up yet so I can see the motor and it is running - just no nozzle action. I did check all three sprayers and all holes are now cleaned out. I assume the pump is located under the lower spray nozzle and above the food blade. I removed everything there but it does not seem out of the ordinary. Is that 3 inch round part attached to the hex shaped motor shaft the major pump part? Looks like something I see in other pumps. How does the water get forced thru the sprayers? Just by this spinning? How do I know if I have enough water in the unit? Can I remove anything inside like all the trays(top two spray nozzles) and unscrew the lower sprayer to help troubleshoot this problem? Thanks, JD

I see the same issue. I don't think the sprayers are spinning. What I did was to line up all the sprayers, run the dishwasher and look at the sprayers. They are in the same position as when I started the dishwasher. This is the main reason I believe the sprayers are not spinning. Without the sprayers the dishes don't get cleaned at all. I am at the point where I will spend the $150 to replace the pump assembly.

I have the same problem with my Jenn Aire. The sprayers are not turning, but they are not plugged, either. I took everything apart - down to the pump wheel, and nothing is clogged. It sprays water but the sprayers (top and bottom) do not turn. Nothing gets cleaned. Has anyone figured this out yet?

Check to see in you have enough water in tank. The dishwasher fills then recirculates this water under pressure. If you have water in tank, listen to see if motor is running or not. If it is, you may have clogged jet holes in the wash arms.

SOURCE: top sprayer wont spin

The sprayers are not powered but rely on the water pressure to spin them. If it's not spinning it could be
the spinner isn't engaging in the top rack as you slide it in
blocked jets on the spray arm
blocked feedpipe to the spray arm
faulty pump

Most dishwashers are fairly easy to dismantle to check the first few

My Scotsman SCCG30 won’t go into Harvest cycle. If I turn it off and turn it back on, it Harvests and then goes back to freeze cycle but still will not harvest.

Without more information it is hard to be precise. You can try the following:
  1. Clean the machine, including vacuuming the condensor coil (below) and running the cleaner through the water circulation system.
  2. Check functions which includes 1) fills the reservoir with adequate water, 2) cools the mold (water gets cold) and sprays water up into molds, 3) are both spray caps on and is the water spraying in a fine, circular pattern, 4) is the curtain intact and not allowing water to leak out of the reservoir and into the storage bin.
  3. If the water is getting cold and if the spray nozzles are working properly then there should be ice in the molds (you can feel with your fingers). Then the pump should shut off and the cooling system goes into harvest cycle. At this point a reversing valve (under the unit) causes the ice making mild to warm. Combined with the fresh water (refilling the reservoir) running over the mold and the warming mold, the cubes should release.
  4. Typical fill, freeze and harvest takes approx. 25-28 minutes.

My Hotpoint dishwasher works fine except that it will no longer wash the dishes in the top rack. It's like the water is not coming up far enough from the bottom to do the job.

There should be an upper spray arm to wash the upper rack, it may be stuck. Look at its position, run the machine a few seconds and see if it moved. The spray nozzles on the arm often get clogged with food particles. the pipe feeding the spray arm has to extend when you pull the rack out and retracts when you push it in. Make sure it works properly and has not disconnected.

CDA dishwasher model CW445, keeps draining will not run through cyscle as it thinks it needs to drain! Constantly making a "gargling" noise if I manually fill with water cysle starts but system...

Ours did the same....last week. Would not work for a few days...in the end i took the spinning rotor arms off that spray the water. The nozzles looked blocked ...used tootbrush to clear nozzles. Put arms back on and it is now working. Wife thinks we have had the problem before...(just going thru cycle) but it cleared itself.
Not impressed by the dishwasher but the oven & hob are working ok. Hope this helps.

My carpet cleaner will not spray. Maybe a little thru the tool but not enough pressure to SPRAY

Thanks to many others who have posted on similar problems -- water and/or solution sprays through the handheld tools, but not through the main machine.

As others have suggested, I removed the water reservoir, which exposes the 2 main water sprays mounted above the rollers. Using, pliers, I carefully slid the clips back. Gently but firmly removed the two red nozzles.

Elsewhere I have read suggestions to just do one nozzle at a time. However, I found out that if you remove both red nozzles, you can then blow through one side and it will come out the other. In my case, that dislodged a nice collection of crystal-like chunks (guessing it may be crystallized residue from the cleaning solution).

There was also a bit of blockage in one of the red nozzles, which I cleaned out. Make sure you can blow through both of them with little resistance.

Reassemble: Push red nozzles back into hoses. Using pliers, reposition sprung clip back over the red nozzle. Snap nozzles back into place. Refill tanks and power it up.

In my case, that resolved the problem of no sprays from the main machine. Sprays like new now. Hope yours does too!!

p.s. Make sure you do give it about a minute after you turn it on before you try spraying. If the pump is not allowed sufficient time to prime, you may not get proper flow.

Bissell Proheat does not spray water along cleaning brush. Seems to spray just down either side only.

Are the brushes turning? If not then that could be your problem. If they are, check the spray nozzles, they may be partially clogged. Try water a mix of vinegar and water thru it to see if it will unlog your kines and spray nozzles.
