Fuel leak Turned the fuel shut-off switch to "ON" and fuel immediately starts dripping

This is Coleman Powermate 6560 and has been sitting for about a year without maintenance. When I turn the Fuel Shut-off switch to "ON" position, fuel immediately starts dripping from what looks like the gasket between the throttle body area and the engine.but I'm not much of a mechanic obviously. Thanks.

This sounds like a stuck float needle in the carbuerator. You might have some luck with a rubber mallet-turn on the fuel, then thump the bowl a few times. If this doesn't work, you may have to remove the bowl to see if the float has sprung a leak and filled up with fuel.(the float won't float if it is filled with liquid!)

When i turn the key the car will start then immediately shut off. Whats going on?

The batteries in the key don't have anything to do with its ability to start the car. Try turning the key to the run position several times before starting the car. This will get the fuel pump running and build pressure in the fuel system. If this technique works you are looking at a fuel pressure leak when the car is off. If the problem only happens when the engine is hot, you likely have a failing crankshaft position sensor. Beyond that, I can't help without the car in front of me for testing.

Vaillant boiler leaking only when heating switched off.

It would seem a joint has come a bit loose from the heating and cooling cycle. put a drip pan under the leaking area( the drips would evaporate quickly), then next time you shut it down go through all the joints in the area with wrenches to find the loose joint.

Why car wont crank, but can smell gas

IT IS LOOKS LIKE A FUEL PRESSURE LEAKING INSIDE THE ENGINE OR DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR LEAKING . TRY DISCONNECTING THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. AND CRANK THE ENGINE IF ALWAYS CRANK WITH OUT OF FUEL (CRANK WITHOUT START) YOU HAVE FUEL LEAK INSIDE THE ENGINE
REMOVE THE INJECTORS RAIL UP EVERYTHING CONNECTED,PUT BACK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TURN THE SWITCH ON AND FIND WICH ONE IS LEAKING. (GASOLINE IS FLAMMABLE TAKE CARE)

2002 impala water dripping from panel where moon roof switch is, compass, fuel mpg info.

It is going to be the seal in your moon roof. Unless you have holes in the top of your car you can be sure that the water is coming from there.

98 Grand Prix 3.8 V6 Starts & Immediately Dies!!!

It sounds like your security system is the culprit. The computer does'nt reconize the code on your ignition key and it thinks some is triying to steal it so the computer shuts the injectors off.You will probably have to replace the ignition switch and the ignition lock cylinder.

Turned of car, will not start it turns over, but doesn't seem to be getting any fuel

Try A SMALL SHOT Of Starting Fluid Sprayed into the Snorkel
Intake @ Air filter. If it Starts and Does NOT Run After Burning Starting Fluid the Fuel Pump Has Failed. (My Personal Hunch) is (FUEL PUMP FAILURE) BE SURE TO ELIMINATE THE INERCIA SWITCH< it is a fuel shut off switch >>>>> WARNING: Do not reset the inertia switch button if you see or smell fuel.

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Check for leaking fuel in the engine compartment, fuel lines and fuel tank.
  3. If no fuel is apparent, reset the inertia fuel shutoff switch by pushing the reset button on top of switch.
  4. Turn ignition switch to START for a few seconds, then to OFF.
  5. Again, check for leaking fuel.
LOCATION

  1. Open luggage compartment door.
  2. Remove two screws retaining inertia fuel shutoff switch.
  3. Disconnect wiring harness connector from inertia fuel shutoff switch and remove inertia fuel shutoff switch.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Husband was driving and the car just dyed like you turned the key off and it will crank over but won't start. Replaced the crank sensor but still won't start.

The starter solenoid may be stuck or not sufficiently powered, or there might be missing teeth on the flywheel.

How do you fix a leaking outdoor wall spigot? Even though the handle is turned tightly off there remains a drip. Spigot seems to be all one piece and attached into stucco wall. Is there a way to repair...

Sometimes, depending on the type of the spigot, you can unscrew the valve from inside the spigot. There would be a hex nut immediately under the part where the handle on the valve stem comes out. BE CAREFUL: Outside spigots rarely have independent shut-offs (ie, in order to work on it, you will have to shut off the main water supply). Once you start down this path, you need to be fairly certain there is a replacement available for your type of spigot. If you remove the valve, there is no assurance that you will be able to get the original back in without making the leak worse. Please have an emergency back-up plan in place.

Fuel leak, car will not stay started

Please fix the fuel leak before anything else!! The fuel pressure is definitely being lowered by the leak and the leak itself is a serious fire hazard. If the fuel pressure is too low, the engine will starve and shut off.

4.0 litre engine, auto transmission, long cranking time before it starts. When it starts there is a smell of gsoline, rich.

CHECK INJECTOR LEAK DOWN. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE, PRESSURIZE FUEL SYSTEM BY LETTING ENGINE RUN FOR A MINUTE, SHUT ENGINE DOWN, AND OBSERVE FUEL PRESSURE. IT SHOULD NOT DROP BY MORE THAN 15-20 PSI IN A HALF HOUR. IF IT DOES PRESSURIZE FUEL RAIL AGAIN AND REMOVE FUEL RAIL WITH INJECTORS STILL ATTACHED AND LOOK FOR FUEL DRIPPING OUT OF INJECTORS. IF FUEL IS DRIPPING REPLACE INJECTORS AND SEALS.
