Question about Skil 5.0 Amp Variable Speed Scrolling/Orbital Jigsaw 4490 01
This is for my Skil 5.0 Amp Variable Speed Scrolling/Orbital Jigsaw 4490. I was cutting pallets and both of the leaf springs popped off the roller/wheel guide leaving no leverage or "push" against the back of the blade as it was cutting. How do these leaf springs reassemble to the wheel guide piece?
You will have to take the case apart and push them into place. If you have access to a hemostat or a nice long, this pair of needle nose pliers, it will be helpful. There is possibly a screw inside that holds them in place. If so, get the smallest bottle of blue threadlocker that you can find. It's quite expensive and you only want enough to wet the screw threads. Only use blue, it's removeable. If you use red or black, you will not be able to turn the screws if the problem ever happens again.
