My window air conditioner is not cooling at all, even though the fan works and I hear the motor humming.

Here's a pretty simple test - take off the cover if possible, remove the air filter - I know some it's trickier on some and they have a filter that slides in from the side versus a hinged cover, etc. you can pull off or down - but there are metal fins behind that filter. Turn the A/C unit on and try and feel those fins. If they are getting cold and your fan is on - it should be drawing hot air in right there, cooling it down and cool air should come out of the vent. If you turn the A/C on and feel those fins - hear the humming - but they are not getting cold - you have a bigger issue. Basically, your compressor isn't sending refrigerant through the coils and there's nothing to cool the air down with. *Could be other components - but that's a pretty basic test just to check functionality. If it's getting cold - but you're not blowing cold air - those fins could just be clogged with dust, etc. You have to be careful cleaning those as they bend easily. They sell special cleaner for them (you'll want to use it outside - usually an acid based cleaner) and a device that looks like a comb to get in between the fins to straighten if they get bent. Word to the wise - those fins being straight and clean allow the air flow to come through unrestricted - definitely less is more on the cleaning side; you'll want to be very careful. Motor hums but fan blades will not turn

If motor hums and does not spin, then motor has gone bad.
As motors get older, the motor begin to slow down.
Motors are designed to pull-in cool air across spinning coils inside the rotor.
Once the motor slows down, the motor no longer gets cool air, so it gets hotter, and then overheats, and then rotor no longer spins.
In years past, motors were taken to local electric shop for rewinding Then the motor went back into service.
Today, the motor is thrown in the landfill unless recycled at local scrap metal dealer.
It's a waste that we no longer have small repai9r shops to fix consumer goods like fans, and instead the economy causes us to import another motor because it's cheaper.

The lights are flashing at the top of my fridge freezer and my fridge isnt remaining cold

The lights flashing could mean more than one thing, so you will need to check several things.

First, if you have a filter built into your refrigerator for the water line to your ice maker, SOME refrigerators will flash a fault code when it becomes blocked. So you might want to check that one.

I would first check that your condenser grill is clean. If there is a lot of build up of lint or dirt, your refrigerator can not cool effectively. Clean it and then see if it starts to cool.

The most common problem with a relatively new self defrosting refrigerator is the defrosting circuit. They seem to last about 5-7 years and then short out. Did your refrigerator start building up frost in the freezer compartment before the lights started flashing? If so, once you defrost the freezer it will start freezing again BUT you will have ice build up again. Which tells you it is time to change out the defrost assembly. It isn't that hard to change, but make sure that the freezer is empty and that the door has been left open to bring it up to room temperature, OR you will crack the cold plastic covers.

Air on heat pump not cool outside unit humming but not kicking on

This could be an inoperative condenser fan.System will kick off on high pressure without proper air flow. The hum indicates voltage is present. Providing the fan motor is not locked up and will spin,Check your run capacitor which helps boost the motor voltage initially and will get it turning. If the cap is good, you may be faced with motor replacement....good luck

When I turn the unit on the fan does not operate.

either the capacitor is not giving correct voltage and is inop,or the fan motor bearing are out and the motor is inop.

Compressor hums and shuts off

This sounds very much like a compressor failure. unplug the refrigerator and check the condenser for cleanliness. After cleaning the condenser and allowing the compressor to cool, plug it back in and listen for the same sounds. If the compressor was overheated it should restart after it cools. If it does not restart the compressor could be seized. Check the compressor warranty against the age of the refrigerator.
