You need to find out what sound card is installed and go to the manufacturer's web site to download the drivers. If it is a pre configured computer like Dell or HP you can go to the manufacturer's web site and download all the drivers for your specific make and model.

I was experimenting with my carbonite because I am getting a new computer. I accidentally pushed restore - now incredimail thinks I am a new subscriber and needs to register again----but it won't even...

You Should be able to go online to Incredimail and sign in then download the software and if you did not have the settings set to maintain a copy online then you will need to set up as if you are a new user of the software.

Thumbs up if helpful, Good Luck!!!

My car is dieing out at about 2000 rpm and will not have any gas no peddle no power to the engine at all till the rpms go back down to about 1200? what do you think?

Sounds like it could be the engine management system if the car isn't making any strange noises. You can have certain mechanics reset the system if that's what it is. Best to take it to see a mechanic, will hopefully be something and nothing.
Hope this helps,
Matt

High pitch beep sound over the actual recording

Hmm - it sounds like feedback - when recording it is important to turn off any monitoring or sound out from your computer. To remove the sound you describe from a recording you will need a sound editing software with either an equalizer or a pass-filter so you can filter away the offending tone.

Midi vs. Sound

Think of MIDI like the old time player pianos where you put a roll into it and the punches on the paper roll told the piano what notes to play. MIDI is a way for computers and musical instruments to communicate what is being played. When you plug your keyboard into your computer and enable it in Cakewalk, then Cakewalk records what notes you are playing on your keyboard (makes a piano roll file). Then when you tell Cakewalk to play this file back it communicates to your keyboard and says play these notes just like a person was sitting there playing these notes. The distinction here is you are recording and playing back your performance (which keys you pressed, how hard you struck the keys, how long you held the keys for sustain, etc...). No sound is actually being recorded, just the PERFORMANCE. When you play it back, the keyboard regenerates the sounds on the fly just as if you were actually sitting there performing the music again. Same thing applies to other MIDI enabled instruments (drums, guitar, saxaphone, etc...). This opens up all kinds of possibilities, you can redirect the recorded MIDI file to a completely different sound or instrument. Example... you record MIDI of you playing piano song, then you have Cakewalk play this MIDI back to your keyboard but you change the sound on your keyboard to guitar, it will play the same song, but now you will hear guitar instead of piano. Get it?

Typing lag

I dont normally work much with mac's, but are you able to type fine in office- word for example? Is the computer slow normally, even without running programs? What it could is that you have to much stuff on your computer taking up space. Try to put all your photos on dics or on an external hard-drive and then get rid of them off yr computer, also get rid of any music files that you may have stored- have them on CD's as well. This should fix the problem, but if not, uninstall any unessesary programs. Hope this can help... be interseted if it does... get back to me if you can!
