Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Cannot change the source with the button.

My tv is stuck on dvd/card and will not change with the remote, or the source button on the side. I removed the built in dvd/card reader to see if it would change, but then it read "no signal" and would still not change from dvd/card.

We called QVC, and for some reason, even two years later, this TV is returnable. If you purchased this TV from QVC, you are in luck.

HOW TO GET A FULL PICTURE WITH OUT BORDERS ON EACH SIDE

It depends what you're watching: For regular TV, cable, satellite and DVD then you just need to use the Aspect ratio button. It is the PIX SHAPE button. Make sure all your source boxes have their picture menus set for a 16:9 (widescreen) TV.

If you are watching Blu-ray, then the situation is different. Blu-ray expects that you have a 16:9 TV. If you use a Blu-ray player to watch a DVD, and that DVD is an older 4:3 shape movie, then you'll be stuck with the bars left and right. It's the player that formats the picture in that way. There's nothing you can do with the TV controls because they'll be locked to 16:9 mode.

Samsung lcd tv can't find a source, buttons on remote control don't respond, nor buttons on the control panel on the right side of the TV device

consult the owner manual or call Samsung---this set likely has a lockout feature that locks both the remote and the keyboard out.

You might also want to research this by taking the model number and Google key words "remote lockout" etc.

I have a Soyo Model# DYLT032C. My remote has been broken since I bought the TV. However, I'm just trying to make the DVD Player work. No cable TV, just want the DVD working. Since the TV Remote is...

As you look at the tv from the front, you have the tv function keys on the lower right hand side, press the key described as source once at a time till you get to the input you are using for the dvd player, ex: if dvd is connected to input 2, press the source key repeatedly untill you get to input2, this should give you control over the external inputs you are trying to use. As for the remote control, there should be a universal remote control you can program to use with your soyo tv.

Hi CindyCee,

I have an Onn 15'' LCD TV Model No OLCD1504 and am trying to connect a DVD player that only has an AV out.I have tried connecting it with a Scart to Av lead in all combinations i.e. via freeview box,direct...

Some dvd players do not have the switching line fro your tv to automatically select scart input but you will be able to select via the tv remote if there are no buttons marked av it can be an oblong with an arrow pointing inwards or you may have to select via the source menu on the tv if you have your original handbook it will give a helpline number for Asda.SUPER8.

Older ge tv but cable ready-no remote.... need to find channel to play dvd player on.Recently connected dvd player but can't play a dvd.The tv is connected to a cable box.

Hey wegodsky,

If you're not able to find the right channel on your TV to use your DVD player, you may want to try changing the TV's input source instead. Many TV models will require that the TV be set to an external antenna in order for any other device (like a VCR or DVD player) to function correctly. This can usually be done by pressing the menu button on the TV itself and selecting an option similar to "Input," "Source" or "Antenna" if you do not have a remote control for your TV.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

The screen is blue and says VIEDO 1 on it I have removed the batteries in the remote and unplugged the tv and unplugged the cable and I still can't get it to work???

You have to change the input / source setting on the TV. Samsung generally call this "source". Look for a button for that name on the remote, or on the front panel. Press it until it's set to "TV" or "CATV" or "ANT" and the picture returns. You may have to pause briefly while changing sources.

If you still can't change the source, please provide the model number.
