Ouch! I have delt with this problem personally. every time i key'd up my astatic 636l i got shocked by the spring.
A shock in the mic is due to grounding problems. When you run the power a connex 4300 puts out and their is poor ground to the radio chassis itself it can cause shocking results! it will bight your lip, or shock the hand. no fun..... you SHOULD get some flat braided wire and run it from the radio body (metal part) (maybe where the mount knobs plug in) and make sure thats grounded. I dont know what powr supply you are using but a lot of them come with a screw or somewhere to ground the radio to.
See if that works it should stop your shocking problem.

it IS a grounding problem.

I have a connex 4600 turbo with a road king 56 noise canceling mic. My mic just started making a cracklin sound in my external speaker . It also shocks and burns me. When I key up and let go it stays keyed...

Sounds to me like the RF signal is leaking into the microphone. Check the cable to the microphone and see if the ground wire is bad. Check the SWR to see if it is high. The problem you are talking about is unusual.

Connex 4300-400 how many amp can they pull

easy way to find out.. is use the wattage divided by the voltage used will give you amp draw.

so if you in a vehicle.. most are either 12-15 volts.
the radio in theory say its doing 400 watts.
400/12 = 33.3 amps
normal cb that can do 12watts your looking around 1-2amp draw.

Got a connex 3300HP has a ranger board and chipset won't modulate recieves fine keys up relay clicks needle doesn't move no voice either cant find schematics

You may have a dead meter.
Modulation is audio's affect on swing wattage or pep. Notice that needle moving more with your voice.
Dead key or carrier wattage is without your voice enhancing the power only with mic keyed.
I can only assume that the chipset you are referring to is an ic chip audio or pll which must be working if you are receiving audio.
Check your mic cord................ transmit and modulation and even your receive volume can be affected by the cord/mic plug solder joints or broken wires here.

Does anyone know the pod too turn for lowering the watts on my connex it is too high and i would like to turn it back also the modulation thanks

You have to adjust the high key first so make sure you're rf power is on high, hope you have a meter set it on the 20 watt scale, key up and turn vr 13
located in back of radio infront of where you're coax connector is until it keys around 12 watts, thats where most connex 33hp should be set,now go to low power and key adjust vr 16 right net to the otherone down to about 3 watts, now you can drive a liners. Mod is Vr 2 right below them two. whistle in mic and turn to get the mod you want.

Killer radio needs help

I'm not sure if this will solve anything...but here it goes.
1st..Make sure you antenna connections are tight. it sound like it is arcing.
2nd.. make sure you SWR is very low. 1.5 or lower. (very important)
3rd.. make sure the rf power at your radio is turned down to low..over powering (over driving) your amp will fry your finals. (just as important)

If it's not any of these..then I'm not sure.
I have always used an Road King RK56. Not the knock off but the real deal. I would sometimes shock my lips on the metal grille , when I keyed up with my linear on high. I could also power flourescent lights when I got under them..lol and that was with a 250w box and a galaxy 99!
