If you have a soldering iron you can unsolder that and try to read with a lens and a good light
else if it's a component like a diode or a fuse it's easy to replace it without the complete number
but if you need a best solution send a photo of your problem

Circuit board is inoperable

What is the chip number on the circuit board? do you have a part number off the circuit board?
The Chip number is located on the eprom chip usually located on a piece of white paper stuck to the top of it close to the transformer on the board.
Let me know what that is and I can start to help you with it.

Where can I buy printed circuit board for a KLH 6.5 subwoofer?

Hello
It will be very difficult to get its printed circuit board as it is. You can buy a populated board to your KLH from Ebay. Just search in with its part number.

I Have a Maytag MAH7500AWW one of the MOV component on the mother board burned and the machine does'nt work anymore. I'm looking for the replacement piece but nobody has it around here, they all told me...

An MOV is a "metal oxide varistor". This is a very common heart of a surge suppressor, which can be used "across the line wires" to prevent harmful voltage spikes from adversely affecting equipment. Most of the time however, an MOV will sit idle in a circuit for years, then one day, it gives its life blocking a voltage spike. You use the equipment the next day like nothing happened. Everything works fine - until the next voltage spike.

Your MOV has already activated, and is no longer able to provide the protection it once had. As a result, the next voltage spike passes unobstructed by the failed MOV into the circuit ruining the circuit.

The problem is that the MOV never told you it failed. Many times, a number of MOVs are installed all at once - each one fails at each subsequent voltage spike. It could take years, decades or more before the last MOV fails - likely long after the warranty is over.

You can probably see that the failed 50 cent MOV isn't the problem any more. It was *before* the circuit failed, but you never knew it had failed. Now, the latest voltage spike fried the circuit and it will require wholesale circuit board replacement or labor intensive troubleshooting to locate and replace all the failed parts on the circuit board.

You're better off buying a used board or an entire used machine until you can fix this one.

I hope this helped you understand about MOVs, and that replacing this part will not restore the machine to working order.

Passenger Taillight always burning out

I own a 97 LS as well and I was going through passenger taillight bulbs too. I found that the water that drained in the channel around the trunk was deteriorating the connectors on the taillight. I replaced the circuit board (black plastic piece you plug the lights into) and also used a can of Electical Connector Cleaner on both the plug to the circuit board and the socket the lights plug into. Lights have lasted now 5 months without burning out.

Looks like the transformer's secondary winding is burned. The one with part number 35B020-NY. Better have it checked by a TV technician.

If you found a bloated capacitor on the circuit board, that one needs to be replaced not the board. You can see the part number on the capacitor itself. Also please look for any burned IC and neighboring components. If you found additional burned components, it also need to be replace. Contact a pro tv technician to replace it.

Question...........Reference cooling Fans

yes, there is usually a relay or two on the circuit board to turn on the compressor and the fan motors. either the points of one or both relays are burned or there might be a burned conductor path on the board. if the latter is the case, there would have to be a reason it burned. in other words, just fixing the burned conductor path wont fix the problem, most likely. unless someone was messing around and shorted something, or moisture shorted something, the latter being pretty unlikely. relays burn with normal use. if it is a relay, you can check and fix it by removing the circuit board (after disconnecting power to the unit first), use a real small screw driver, like for glasses, a soldering gun or iron. remove the relay/relays. they are rectangular usually about 3/4 by 1 inch and black in color, take apart and sand points. one piece cover goes around all 4 sides and the top and youll probably crack the cover getting it off, dont worry, you can fill any cracks with epoxy putty or ......
