Flashing red ligt on my sony trinitron, but no picture. Any suggestions?

flashing led indicates trouble codes,you must have a sony service manual to interpret the codes

Its troubleshooting guide "helpfully" suggests that a red flashing light means "Your TV possibly needs service".
I think that is all anyone will be able to tell you.

has a sony 41" REAR PROJECTION TV THE STAND BY LAMP IS BLINLING HAS RESET IT , NOTHING. HAS NO PICTURE NO SOUND

My Sony trinitron has the stero lite on steady and standby lite flashes four times then pauses and repeats. Can you tell me the circuit/condition causing the set to not turn on.

The unit is shutting itself down because a problem was detected internally. When this happens, the standby light should blink a repeated pattern. Please count the number of blinks and post the number here. That will indicate the circuit in which the problem occurred.

i think your tv had a lose contact or crack on board

your tv had a problem.if you have a knowledge in electronics, check or replace the horizontal transistor beside the plyback. it is a black square parts with 3 pins.

When I turn on the TV I hear the click sound and the TV powers up. Immediatly the red (standby) light begins to flash 6 times on and off. this happenes only in the morning, but after 5:00PM when youturn on the TV as if nothing is wrong.

dear misskona, I suggest that if you have any technical knowledge the first thing you do is to increase the screen voltage and see if there is a bright line across the screen solder the vertical I.C or remove and fix another working one.if that do not solve the problem there is scat board solder some dry joint.
