I have a ABIT TH7 RAID... My IDE Primary master and slave are not reading my hard drives... I have 4 IDE port on this motherboard and only the 2nd IDE is working... i have my DVD driver connected there and the hard drive connected on the 1st IDE but it doesnt find it...the 3th IDE is not working when i connect the dvd drive or the hard drive i doesnt read it correctly... and the 4th IDE port is not working either...please help i cant install my OS with both HDD or DVD drive....

Hook the two together on the one working IDE connector. Put your hard drive as the first device on the ribbon cable and make it the master using the jumper at the back. Hook the DVD to the second and set it's jumper to slave. Install your OS then try to figure what's up.

Good. Your motherboard has detected ONE disk-drive.
Do you have just one connected disk-drive on your PRIMARY channel, or do you have two connected disk-drives (via the 2 connectors on the one ribbon-cable on the PRIMARY channel) ?
If you have two drives connected via one ribbon-cable, you MUST set the 'master/slave/cable-select' jumpers on BOTH disk-drives, to identify which of the two will be the 'master' and which will be the 'slave'.
Also, check that the 'second' disk-drive is getting electrical power.

Like I said, you deleted 99% of the files, including the 'NTLDR' file.
Your computer is trying to "boot" from the 1% of the files that still exist on the disk-drive, but cannot find the now-deleted file.
Perfectly normal, given that you have formatted the disk.
They don't have master/slave settings as only one SATA drive can connect to a controller, however some BIOS have a setting designed to facilitate older OS's like XP that don't always have drivers available for the newer SATA RAID controllers built into most mid to high end PC's. If this setting is enabled on your PC then they would look to windows like a pair of master IDE drives on a Primary and Secondary IDE Channel even though each has it's own dedicated controller.
Suggest you connect the plextor to the SATA port 3 and set it's jumper to Master. All SATA drives are seen as Master drives. (Check the serial number on your WD SATA drive "Primary". Enter the bios menu. Within page 3-7 section 3-3 Advanced bios features. Check, 1st, 2nd and third boot devices. Floppy disk drive as, 1st boot device. 2nd boot device, "Primary WD SATA port 1". 3rd boot device, CD-ROM drive SATA port 2, Plextor 880sa drive". Save and exit the bios. If you no longer have you're manual you can download it from the link provided below; http://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fae/ic7-g_eng_v101.pdf Check page 3-13. See OnChip serial ATA Mode. As noted, the RAID option is available when the item "OnChip serial ATA" is set as [Enhanced Mode].
Make sure your IDE hard disk drive is connected to IDE1 port and that the data cable is fully connected. Also check the jumper on the IDE drive. If you are using only one IDE hard disk drive set the jumper on the drive as a Master without a slave. If you are running two IDE hard disk drives set the primary drive's jumper as a Master with a slave. Set your second IDE disk drive's jumper as a slave. The master drive should be connected at the end of the data cable and the slave drive should be connected to the next data connector. Than check your bios settings. Power on the system and press the Delete key every 2 seconds until the bios menu loads. See page 3-1 in your manual. Your HDD should be listed here. Than see page 3-7 in the manual. Open Advanced BIOS Features. A normal boot menu for the Abit would read; First boot device Floppy disk drive (If one is connected). 2nd boot device should be (CD-ROM/DVD-ROM). Third boot device should list your primary hard disk drive's (Model number). Load your windows CD into your CD-ROM drive. Once the settings above are set, press the F10 key to save your changes and exit the bios. Your system will auto restart. Windows should begin to load.
setup the first drive as slave ( sometimes No Jumper ) then the furthest away drive as Master.
If this fails, and you have 2 IDE Slots on the motherboard. ( Primary/Secondary ) Put 1 drive on primary as Slave. And DVD Rom As Master ( same Cable ) Then put second drive On Secondary IDE Slot. ( Set As Master Or Slave )
If none of these solutions Work For you, check to see if Both Channels are activated in the Bios.
Hi Banyar, lets check the main menu & the boot order in you're bios. Start up the PC, as soon as you see any display on the monitor press the delete key every 2 seconds until the bios main menu loads. This is also where you can see the time & date. List on the left is; Primary IDE Master Primary IDE Slave Secondary IDE Master Secondary IDE Slave Across from these on the right is the matching device. If you have one hard drive the bios will show its model number on the right. Ex: ST150322A. (You're drive will be different). If you have more than one hard drive the second drive, (Should be listed as Primary IDE Slave). CD-ROM drives would be listed as, Secondary IDE Master & Secondary IDE Slave. Write down the model name of the Primary IDE Master on paper. Now go to the title, "Boot" in the bios. Use you're manual & go to page 2-25. High-light, Boot Device Priority & press enter. Set the order as shown in the manual. Make sure the 3rd boot device is set to the correct hard drive listed from the main menu. The model you wrote down. Once set save & exit the bios. The PC will restart. You should no longer receive the error message & windows should boot normally. If windows does not load normally than it is possible that the Primary IDE master drive is not the drive with windows installed on it. You must find the correct drive with windows loaded on it. Connect that drive to the Primary IDE master port. You may need to reset the drive’s pin settings so it is seen as the primary drive. Than change the 3rd device in the bios boot priority list with the correct drive. Windows demands that the operating system be located on the, Primary IDE master port. Please read pages 2-12 & the top of 2-13 in you're manual.
I'll assume each of these is an IDE device, meaning each has a wide connector versus a narrow SATA connector commonly found on newer hard drives.
Your motherboard should have two IDE channels, labeled IDE 1 and IDE 2, Primary IDE and Secondary IDE, or something similar. Each IDE channel can support two devices.
For best performance between the drives, you will want to have the Hard Drive connected as Master(Drive 0) on the Primary IDE channel; The CDROM should be connected as Slave(Drive 1) on the Primary IDE channel. Connect the DVDROM as Master(Drive 0) on the Secondary IDE channel, and the ZIP Drive as Slave on the Secondary IDE channel.
When connecting the drives, make sure you set the jumpers correctly; Both the Hard Drive and the DVDROM should have their jumpers set to Master, the CDROM and Zip drives should have their jumpers set to Slave. An alternative is to set the jumpers for every drive to Cable Select(CS), allowing the physical connection of each drive to determine whether its a Master or Slave device.
If your Hard Drive is a SATA device, connect it to the '0' or '1' SATA connector on the motherboard. Have the DVDROM set up by itsself as Master on the primary IDE channel, the CDROM as Master on the Secondary IDE channel, and the ZIP as Slave on the Secondary IDE channel.
