Question about Magnavox Televison & Video

Open Question

Magnavox mdvd803 with USB port. What video formats can you play from a usb stick? Having trouble getting anything to work, Some AVI files play, but not all. Thanks

Purchased this week in Australia. Player will recognise all avi format files, but only play some of them. What codec do they have to be encoded in, and can it play any other formats? I can find no info in the manual or on their website regarding this. Thanks.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I have a **** Smith

Rip your DVD's using XviD format and not DivX and they should play just fine.

A good free software to try is "Winx Free DVD to XviD" but you'll have to have unprotected DVD's or rip them to the hard drive first using DVDFab to remove the protection or just have Slysoft AnyDVD running.
I set the video's audio to mp3 format (128Kbps 48000sample rate), and the video to 25fps(because in Australia we have PAL format), output profile to keep original size and aspect ratio, and video quality to about 1500kbps.
You won't get much benefit from a higher bit rate then that on a GE4203 screen and you could probably even go lower if you have speed or sync issues with the data rate. Even 1200 looks good.

Usually you can if it is a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. Depends on the video format too. (.avi, .mov., MPEG...)

How do I format USB stick to recognize avi files

USB is already formated. It should popup a menu of options if it is working properly. If you want to "store" an avi file on the "stick", you should be able to do that just like any other hard drive. Do you see anything happen when you plug it in? If not you may have a problem with the stick or the USB port. I find this site very helpful good luck.

My samsung dvdc370 does not read movies from my usb

Are the movies inthe correct format for the player? If it does not register the USB drive, try it without a cable if one is used, and make sure contacts are clean. if it still does not register, the port cotroller may be dead.

How do i get videos to download to my sylvania smpk8858 mp3 touch

Before transferring video from the computer to the SMPK8858, the video must be in the matching avi format for the player.
The avi converter for this player can be installed by running the CD that came with the player.

The file format WMV, RM, AVI, VOB or DAT could be converted to AVI format by the AVIConverter.

When not having the CD at your disposal get a download of the zip file,
going to next link:
Right click the link above and select "Save Target As..." to save the file
to a location on your computer.
When the download has completed, unzip the zip file and run the Setup.exe file in the submap Video Convert Tool.
When the installation of the AVIConverter is ready, use the program for converting videos.

Transfers of the converted videos can be performed by connecting the USB cable between the USB port of the player and the computer.
Explore the folder on the computer for the converted videos and put them onto the player, seeing the device as a removable disk of about 8 GB or onto the micro SD card of max. 2 GB (when available).
Use the commands "copy and paste" or the "drag and drop method", just like copying files from the computer to an external USB memory stick or hard drive.
