Chances are you have wrecked the cone and movement with the overly high input. Nor repairable if this is the case. Check out the makers website for more tech info

Esquire Wireless shuts off during play

Think I might just have discovered the issue here. I had the same problem but didn't realize that the volume was maxed on the unit (as I was controlling it through the phone). As soon I brought the volume down on the unit the problem went away.

Older Harman Kardon computer speakers have loud hum

The hum (50 or 60 Hz) is caused by the AC power getting into the entry point of the amplifier. Either the filtering capacitors from the powersource of the speakers have dried up - replace them - or there is a short in the cables.
There is another possibility: if you have kicked the subwoofer  box its transformer might have slipped from its fixings and now is touching the subwoofer speaker frame.
The only way to find which is to open the cases.

Low sound coming from soundsticks II

On the right stick, there are two metal pieces at the bottom of the stick. The right one is + for volume up, and the left is - for volume down.

Press the + one a few times with your finger as they are touch activated. Be careful though, as it can get loud very quickly. Play some music and set the computer volume to about half way. Then press the + speaker on the right hand side until you are happy with the volume.

Hope this helps,

Nathan.

Harman Kardon go + play problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Initially, pls try cleaning the battery terminals. In some instances, it may be necessary to scrape them to remove corrosion. Still there are times they may have to be bent or stretched to ensure that they provide more pressure to the batteries. Alternately, pls try to confirm that the AC adapter is working by checking for the presence of voltage on the plug/connector with the use of a voltmeter.

Should the above not address your concern, then it is most likely that the problem is internal electronics and the unit is simply going into protective mode. You then have a choice of performing a DIY (do-it-yourself) or seeking the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

No sound

I've had my speakers for about a year now and all of a sudden they just stopped playing music/sound. I can still hear that 'fuzz' if I put either speaker up to my ear. Everything lights up properly but nothing is being played.
