Question about EuroTech EWF150 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Water Temperature is hot on all rinse cycles Water temperature on rinse on all modes is HOT.  Water is hooked up correctly (the delivery folks hooked it up when installing).  Steaming hot - too hot to touch. My clothes are also shrinking and being destroyed. I cannot figure out how to make this stop except to turn off the hot water entirely, but I am afraid I will damage the machine if I do; it doesn't appear to be using any cold water in the rinse.

Check the water suppl lines to make sure they are not hooked up backwards the rinse cycle uses cold water if the temperature sensor detects hot water it will stop power to the log valve if hooked up correctly then place unit in a rinse cycle to see if rinse valve is opening

I have just taken delivery of a Hotpoint Whirlpool washing machine today. Please explain how on a 30 min cycle the water can be warm when it is cold fill only

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I'm not certain that I understand your question ;-0(
Maybe if I explain- 'cold fill only' means exactly that; the washer has only one hose and is connected to one cold supply to fill and then the washer will heat the water up to the selected temperature of the wash. The description does not mean that it washes in cold water only.
In the case of a hot and cold fill, the washer would open the hot inlet until the correct temperature is reached and then would continue filling to the right level with a mix of hot and cold water whilst maintaining the temperature. Cold is then used for rinses in all cases as far as I am aware, including yours ;-0)
I sincerely hope that I have not totally misunderstood your question. If I have I apologize.

If this has answered you question please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck.

I just rehooked up my washer and I only have cold water going to it. It will go for a while and then reads F-20. What do I do?

he F20 error is a no water detected entering machine error and yes it is related to the hot water not being hooked up.

Newer washers sense and control the incoming water temperature. If you select cold wash and cold rinse you may think that it will not ask for hot water so you don't need it hooked up but you can't do that on this washer.

Even on a cold wash the temperature sensor will read the temperature of the incoming water. If your cold water is 60 degrees then the control will sense this and it may cycle the hot water on to bring the temperature up to 70 degrees.

This temperature monitoring is something all the newer washers do. Both water valves must be hooked up to water.

Hot water seems to not enter tub during washing cycle. all connections are correct and the hot water hose is hot up to the back of the washer, im baffled ? does the unit start with cold water on the first...

They start with hot or warm ,what/ever the setting and rinse with cold water. Check the temperature adjustment and the cycle it's on as some do different things on different cycles.

Cold water Washes

It is normal for the machine to cycle between hot and cold water when filling even if selecting a cold cycle. The reason for this is because even a cold cycle requires the water temperature to be 78F for the soap to break up efficiently.

During the cold months the water in your pipes is probably less than 78F so the machine will need to add some hot water to bring it up to this temperature. Basically, it is adding cold and then hot water to maintain a temperature in the tub of 78F for cold water cycles.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

Rinse cycle temperature

You may have a problem with your Temp Switch or the Sensor Thermistor.  Very easy to check and fix depending on your technical ability.  Both of these parts are connected off the Automatic Temperature Control Board.
