Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Amplifier turns of at volume 2

When I play a cd and I turn the volume of my Technics VC-4 amplifier louder than 2, the current drive switch turns of and so does the music. When I turn the volume down and put the amplifier off and on it works again.

Don,t turn it over 2 then,LOL: It has developed a internal problem end is going into what is called the protect mode. You will have to take it in for repair.

SOURCE: amplifier power cutting out

not enough power to amp and or amps location is too hot might want to invest in a couple cooling fans from computer store and attach where needed

an amp should take up to 3/4 load but when not enough air to it to cool it off it will shut down

try this turn gain all the way down and slowly work up too desired amp volume setting

SOURCE: technics amplifier switches off

1-keep good ventillation around and do not block any ventillation holes with any thing.
2-check your connection cable in good condition no touching of inner conductor with any chasis.
3-check your loudspeakers and apply them to the system one by one until you find the bad one(which make the problem if it is bad)

Technics SU-CH900 turn off when the volume up ....

That's usually caused by incorrect loading (eg: 2 ohms on a 4 ohm circuit) or failed components in the power supply or final amplifier stages.

I have the same TECHNICS SU A900 MKII as you are talking about and it always runs warm I think using 4R speakers instead of 8R speakers should solve the problem and actually I am thinking of switching to 4R as well.

When I turn on my technics SU-V55A amp, the current drive does not engage. If I leave it, it normally comes on after a period of time. The amp then runs ok.

Check for dry solder joints especially on the main power output transistor.
A blown power transistor will stop the 'Current Drive' from engaging so if the problem you have is intermittent then it is most likely dry solder joints.

Hope this helps.

My su-g95 technics Stereo integrated amplifier wont play any noise. and when i adjust the volume it makes a popping/crackling noise. i am 100% sure all the speakers were hooked up correctly.

Well it sounds like your amplifier IC's are working correctly since you are hearing that pop. I have the same amplifier and every 10db increment it pops. Have you tried every input? Possibly try starting at a low volume, plug an RCA plug into CD or any other input, and touch the center prong of the other end of the cable. You should get a 60hz hum if your in the USA, otherwise it will be 50-55hz. Regardless it should make noise.

SUV500 2-Channel Amplifier: Hi! can I connect another technics cd-player,sl...

yes you can connect another cd player to the DAT input of your amp.
input connections like DAT, TUNER, CD, AUX etc (except phono) is just to differentiate between what sources are connected, the amp cannot tell what source is connected and will output the sound no problem.

as for the remote operation, if the 2 technics cd players are switched on at the same time they're going to do what you command from the remote together but you'll obviously be listening to 1 at a time.
