My car won't start with the key but it will start with the remote start and when its started with the remote and turn the key when I hit the brake it shuts off

The shutting off is standard procedure for the remote start if the brake is pressed without the key being in the on position. That said, it seems you may have an issue with the ignition switch. When you turn the key to the ON position, do all the warning lights on the dash come on like they are supposed to, or does it just sit there? If the lights do not come on, then you need to check out the ignition switch circuitry. The remote start bypasses all that when in use, but in order to drive the car once started, the ignition switch must function properly.

you will have to get a wiring diagram of the alarm and check the wires are still working and connected to the right parts

it sounds like the wire to confirm the key is turned on so you can drive off is disconnected

but you will need to check this via the alarm diagram

The remote starter shuts down when you step on the brake?!? That's exactly what it's supposed to do. To operate a proper "takeover" from the remote starter the key must be turned to ignition on, not accessory.

Mts mode for preset manual trans auto start function enable, does not allow car to start, instead the park light blinks seven times and give an error tone ... Thank you

There is a sequence necessary to set the Viper every time you exit the vehicle: park the vehicle, put in neutral, place foot on brake, set parking brake, remove foot from brake, remote start vehicle with remote, remove key (vehicle should remain running), exit vehicle and close door, arm the alarm with remote (vehicle should shut down). The system is now set for MTS remote start. Test the system by remote starting the vehicle now (it should remote start at this point). If you open any door after the MTS remote start has been set, you will have to do the programming sequence again. This is a safety feature because something may have changed, i.e. parking brake released when the door was opened. You have to do this sequence each time you park the vehicle if you intend to use the remote start feature.
If this does not work, there may be an issue with the installation, i.e., the door trigger connection. Using dome supervision as a door trigger won't work because during the arming portion of the above mention programming sequence(when the vehicle shuts down), the interior lights will illuminate and the Viper will read it as a door opening. So, actual door trigger wires must be used.

Key will not shut vehicle off after staring with viper starter

The brake is what shuts it off. To keep the car on You first put key in to IGN position then hit the brake. If you hit brake first then the remote start shuts off

The vehicle starts with the remote but not with the key.It won't turn over.It shuts off when the brake is pushed.

It sounds like the ignition switch is shot. Part of the security of a remote start system is that, unless the key is in and turned, it'll shut down if the brake is pressed (since the brake has to be pressed to put it in gear to drive). If you put the key in, turn it, and hit the brake, and the car stops, or if you turn the key and it doesn't start, it means the ignition switch (the electronic portion, not the barrel where you stick the key - the electronics are on the backside of the barrel) is not recognizing that the key is in. I'd replace the ignition switch and try again. It's not a keyed part - you can go to a salvage yard and get one to install. You'll have to remove the trim for your steering column and then you'll see the switch on the back of the key cylinder. Should be a couple screws that mount it and a harness that plugs into it, and it'll come right off.

Vehicle shuts off after remote start

I will need to know the make and model of your car to answear this possitively but this sounds like a problem with your bypass module. That is if your car has a immobility system. an easy way to check this is stick your key in the ignition "Do not turn the key" just insert it in the ignition then hit the remote start. if the car does not shut down that is where your problem lies. if the car still shuts down then your problem is due to either a bad brain or faulty wiring.

Hope that helps,
