Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

I can't take any picture

I have a canon camera powershot A75 since 2002 or 2003.I never have any problem since last week.I can't take any picture .What I see is a sky with red or gray clouds.I can't see the picture that I want to take. Could you help me?

    my camera doesn't take pictures now...it seems toack like it takes a pictures but I have is a series of lines...no picture. How can I fix this?

    after turning camera nothing but a flickering screen with purple on it. No image.

    So I just e-mailed canon. Let's see what happens.
    Camera had been working fine. Put new batteries in.....and "purple haze". Googled and found out about the faulty CCD imager and the free repair.



    I have the Canon Powershot A75.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Pink pictures


Check what setting the white balance is on. Also, go into the setup menu and do a reset of the camera.

Poor picture quality


Some one might have messed up with your camera. 
some one might have changed the resolution, aperture, manual focus etc of the camera.
Try setting them according to your needs or try resetting the camera.

a pink tint CAN be removed in Photoshop or picasa.

Check the settings in your camera. it could be set to "sepia" under effects.

Pink skys


This problem is generally caused by a failure in the image sensor. Canon has an active recall for many powershot models which covers this failure free of charge. Check the support section of their website for further information.
