Two tone black (6bk) and yellow (6Y) printing mp750

When printing in colour or a nozzle check the 6BK and 6Y print as solid two tone bars. I have performed both internal and a physical print head cleaning but it has made no difference. All other colours print correctly.

SOURCE: Canon iP5000 not printing black

Here is the link to the user guide if you need it; http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=257&modelid=10439 If you have performed all the operations in there with no success, then the part of the printhead that is under the 6bk has some blockages. This is best cleaned by dripping some ink flush solution (use gin if you have none) into the print head from above (just at the point where the hole on the ink cartridge would sit. Very gently swab with a q-tip from below with more fluid. After a day or so with the fluid penetrating from the top, clean the bottom again, clean out any excess fluid you can from the top (don't get any q-tip fluff in there). Then run a clean/test again. Hopefully this can solve your problem after a few cleans, but blocked Canon printheads are not always unblockable. You can purchase the complete replacement printhead, although I wasn't able to find a price - this link for service; http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ServiceLocatorAct&fcategoryid=184&modelid=10439 Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: new printhead will only print 3eBK, no color

If you're concerned with a clogged printhead try to clean it with acetone solution. Also, check the cable connections to your printerheads they might be loosened..

The auto print head alignment prints ok. The Nozzle check from top to bottom prints as follows: 3eBK ok; 6C top half light blue - bottom half darker blue; 6C ok; 6M top half light pink - bottom half darker...

It sounds like your black (K) or Black/Yellow (KY) head needs to be replaced.
The problem appears to be in the top half of the black head.
Without knowing more (like what make/model the printer is) I can't help more than that.

I think I put in a wrong colored toner cartridge. Pages printing in wrong colors. Can't find a list of the cartridges I should be using.

The make and type of cartridge is generally given in the users handbook/manual provided with the printer. If you do not have that ,you can log on to Canon web site and then go to support. Select your printer model and you can find the the specification of cartridge to be used with your printer. The list of the cartridges is given below: BCI-3eBk Black ink tank, BCI-6Bk Black ink tank, BCI-6C Cyan ink tank, BCI-6M Magenta ink tank, BCI-6Y Yellow ink tank You can also go the this link and download the manual if you do not have the same http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_ip_series/pixma_ip4000#Overview

I put a new ink cartrige and printer prints low coulour tone.

A technique to improve print quality is to try and clean the cartridge nozzles. You may clean the cartridge by following the steps given below:
1. Go to the "Lexmark solution center." This can be done by clicking on "Start," go to "Programs" and Lexmark printer group. Click on the "Lexmark Solution center." Next click on the "Maintenance" Tab.  2. Select "Clean and Fix Horizontal streaks."  Click on "Print". This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.  2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge or cartridges from the printer.  3. Get a damp paper towel.  4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.  5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.  6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.  7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.  8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."  9. Repeat the "Clean Nozzle Page" one more time. If this fails to address the problem the entire procedure may need repeating.

Won't print black

I found a solution to the Black printing problem :)
Under Printing Preferences: Set your Media Type to Photo Paper Pro.
We used edible ink cartridges and printed onto icing sugar paper. Same old... Just one day it refused to print black. In order to continue our small business, I degraded the color until I printed gray and not black.

Tonight, I browsed for the problem and came across this :)

Hope it helps you too
