Just from having a 97 Cadillac Deville i would lean towards o2 censor or head gasket but, there can be many different reasons, the fuel tank lid could not me sealing right, you could have different wheels & tires size, which could also cause that, after market stereos can be a common reason as well ( 97 Cadillac stock stereo was linked with the vehicles computer so removing it was like taking away a vital part of the vehicle) Quickest way to tell is take it & have it Diagnosed.

check the wiring to the speaker, the rubber wiring cover from the door post is a common place to look as the wires can snap with the door movement and sort out.

Try Doctor Don's. He is an AC Delco expert who can repair a lot of AC Delco radios. He put some new amps into my Radio/CD player for my 1990 Cadillac Deville so it would play in my AC Delco Radio's place. He really knows what he is doing when it comes to radios.

www.doctordons.com is his website.

Good luck on this repair.

Replaced altenator & battery wont hold a

You either have a short or a power drain. You may have a defective mercury switch in the trunk which is leaving the light on. This would drain the battery in a few hours. Also check the switch under the hood. The easy way to check this is to unscrew the bulbs & see if that solves the problem. Good luck!

Will my car stereo power 300 watt speakers?

it will power them but it will only push a small amount of wattage to them. something like 45 watts so they won't be very loud but if you run the wires you will hear them. It's beneficial to just invest in an amp you can pick up a 200 watt pretty cheap these days. and you will be much happier with the end result.
