I've TallyGenicom 6312 It was printing and suddenly stopped and display the following error: Fault: Coil 26 and doesn't print anymore. Please help!

This error is is indicating the printer detects a problem with one of the coils which make up the hammer bank.
You can try checking for any obstructions in the printer, in particular check the ribbon shield is no bent or out of place and may short out any coils.

Further then this to identify the problem may involve disassembling the printer. Ensure the hammer bank alignment is not messed up or you will need to replace this!

Check the cables from the hammer bank to the logic board for any damage, check the cable makes good contact.

Further than this you may be able to test each of the coils with a multi meter to see if there is a fault with a coil, if there is it is likely the hammer bank will need to be replaced as it is not passable to service this in the field.

My IBM 6400 comes up with the error 086 Controller 15V fault on power up and therefore fails to get to the 'ready' state. Please advise on diagnosis of fault

The manual recommends replacing the hammer bank logic cable even if there is no damage to cable seen. You might do the cable shorts test recommended on page 263 of service manual

15 Volt CTL fail

Hi Serap,

If a fault condition occurs in the printer, the status indicator on the control panel flashes on and off, and the message display indicates the specific fault.

For the operator-correctable faults, After correcting the displayed fault, press the CLEAR key to clear the error message and status indicator and resume printing. If the fault message reappears, contact your authorized service representative.
If a fault is not correctable by the operator, you may try two steps to clear the fault before calling your authorized service representative:

1. Set the printer power switch to O (Off), wait 15 seconds, then turn the printer on again. Run your print job again. If the message does not appear, it was a false indication and no further attention is required.

2. If the message reappears, press the CLEAR key. If the message disappears, it was a false indication and no further attention is required. If the message reappears, call your authorized service representative at 1-800-243-3338.

Message Explanation Action 15V CTL FAIL* Controller voltage failure. Contact authorized service representative.
Call 1-800-243-3338

As far as software for the flash file is concerned , I have checked with their officaial sites , but they donot have any firmware updates.

Thanks
