Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Says card locked

If it says Card Locked but the switch on the memory card is not locked, try another card. If you are still having the problem, there is going to be a problem with the memory card reader in the camera. At that point, if you're under warranty, Canon should cover it. If you're warranty is up, go with this site www.camerasandparts.com This is where a lot of people go for help with the Canons. That's all they service, they do excellent work and they are much cheaper than Canon themselves.

The memory card of my canon ixus 95IS locked how can i unlock?

Hello,
The Canon PowerShot SD1200 uses SD and SDHC cards. These cards have a small plastic slider on the front of the card that will lock/unlock the card.

See the example below:

Slide the lock switch in the opposite direction.

Please let me know if I can further assist you.

Regards,
KYTechnology

Camera says card is locked canon powershot sx100

"Card is locked" usually means that the little write protect switch on an SD card has been set to stop the card being written to. Seems unlikely that it would happen to two cards in a row, but it is worth checking this.

For the Canon PowerShot A550, card is locked

Pop the card out of the camera- there's a tiny switch on the card that locks it so you can't write over important photos.  Move the switch to the other position and you should be good.

A Canon SD 750 CARD LOCK!

It's most likely the locking switch on the edge of the memory card. Secure Digital cards have a locking mechanism on the side of the card to prevent accidental erasing of the data (that's the "secure" part of secure digital). Just slide the switch away from the locked position and try it in the camera again.

Card locked canon powershot sd750

Check the switch on the side of your SD memory card. It is a small sliding switch which has a lock position. Sounds like the switch is in the "locked" position. Unlock, reload card, & you should be good to go. If not, the card is probably damaged.
