U NEED TO ADJUST THE PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE BACKUP TO A LOWER PSI. TO COME ON AFTER THE PRIMARY. EXAMPLE: PRESSURE SWITCH ON PRIMARY COMP. SET AT 140-175 PSI AND BACKUP SET AT 135-170 PSI. U CAN USUALLY TURN ONE CENTER SCREW IN THE PRESSURE SWITCH COUNTERCLOCKWISE TO LOWER THE PSI.

Ingersoll rand parts and manuals are available at www.grainger.com, or call you local grainger store, they have a very good customer service for faxing parts lists to your place. Notice: some Ingersoll rand compressors have been recalled. Check the address below. If you have general questons about a problem that you are having, post again. Good Luck

The pulley is held on by a compression type of coupling. Loosen all the screws in the coupling. Remove two screws and they should thread into two or more threaded holes in the coupling. These are holes that should be 180 degrees apart....they will be the only holes threaded. If all the other bolts in the circumference are loose you should be able to thread these two bolts into the coupling and the bolts actually "jack" the coupling apart. The coupling and fan should easily come off the front of the motor. The motor should be held on by 4 screws to the motor tower in front of your air/oil cooler.

Testimonial: "Although the information is way late, it is accurate information"
When it shuts down, press DISPLAY SELECT button once and use the up down arrows to see the code just before shutdown.
HIGH AIREND TEMP
HIGH AIR PRESSURE
LOW SUMP PRESSURE
PRESSURE OR TEMP SENSOR FAIL
CHECK MOTOR ROTATION
FAN MOTOR OVERLOAD
I am assuming this has a Intellisys controller.
