Insignia PDVD10 works fine from outlet but battery won't charge

We bought a NS_PDVD10 about a year ago and while it works fine when plugged in the battery won't charge at all. no CHG illuminates on the front, in fact i did even no where it was as it is mentioned but labeled in the online handbook. My kids just brought the battry problem to my attention as they have been using in the car while plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

Any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix?

You must get a new battery. If the unit is still under warranty take the back to the place of purchase and tell them that the battery will not charge and ask them for a replacement. if this is not under warranty then you will have to buy a replacement battery. Call these telephone numbers for technical service and parts replacements. Service :1-877-467-4289. Parts replacement : 1-888-237-8289. Make sure you give them the model number or the unit and the part number of the battery that needs replacement. Hope this helps you with your problem.

I have the same problem with my ns-pdvd8 which occured right after using the cigarette lighter adapter for the first time. I bought a replacement battery wich also did not work. I have a strong supsicion that the cigarette lighter adapter is destroying the battery charging circuits of these players by producing a too high/unregulated input voltage, and Insignia isn't admitting anything. One of these days I will open mine up and see if I can figure out and fix the circuit.

WHITE SCREEN NS-P10DVD11 PLAYER....Plays sounds no picture....Has a 1 year warranty...can i get a replacement..

The fault is with its video processor section. If the set is in waranty period, it will be best for you either get it repaired by its authorised service center, of replaced it by an other one. The second stated will be best, rather than get it repaired as it is new.

Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy an exact battery replacement.Never buy generic battery, because will not fit in ur battery compartment.Buy a generic battery only when ur user manual said so,and it allow u to use other battery brands, beside it own brand.

My Insignia IS-PDVD10 player works well when plugged into the wall outlet but does not charge the battery. There is no orange light when I slide the switch into the "Off" position. The same happened with...

Repairs will probably be required since you've tried all of the troubleshooting steps I would recommend. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase.
