SOURCE: My goodman furnace will start to ignite, then it

Another part that you might want to check is the flame sensor. It is a very good chance that this is the problem, the stat calls for heat, the induced draft motor (little motor on from of furnace), ignitor comes on, the main burner fires, just for a second or two, the burner shuts down, the main blower motor defaults to blower on!
If this is the issue;
Then this is what you do to fix it, kill power to the furnace, look where the burners are, to the left side there is a little wire, usually yellow or orange running to what kinda looks like a spark plug, one screw should be holding it to the burner bracket. take it out, at the end of the white porcelain is a small metal rod sticking out, it probably has a slight bend in it.
take some steel wool, or sand paper and clean the rod till is is nice and shiny, NOTE: when you take it out, it won't look really dirty, maybe just like a pencil lead,,,,it is dirty!
Just use the sandpaper and clean the rod till it looks like metal, "do not sand the white porcilen". Put the part back in and turn the power back on and run the furnace as usual.
90 % chance that this will fix your problem.
The rod get a build-up on it from the sulfur that is added to the gas, and has a hard time passing the milli-volt signal back to the furnace computer, which is passed from the ignitor, through the flame, to the sensor! This way the computer knows that all of the burners are firing and it is safe to run!
Please take time to come back and rate me, or contact me with any further questions!
Have a warm day :)
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

NOTE!!
Do not touch the ignitor! The part that gets bright and hot! Even when it is cold, the oil on your fingers will cause it to burn out.

Furnace will not light

Most furnaces can be reset by turning the power off and back on.
The pressure switch senses pressures in the furnace to make sure the exhaust fan or draft inducer is operating properly. if not the furnace shuts down. check the inlet and exhaust terminals outside for obstructions (I.E: leaves, frost or snow) check the drains to make sure they are not clogged . Hope this helps.

I have a keeprite furnace that is acting up the furnace starts up and runs some times for minutes and sometimes seconds the pressure switch is cutting in and out but it doesn't seem to have a steady flow...

TEMPORARILY disconnect exhaust vent and see if it still does it. If it runs for a few minutes like that, normally your problem is something in your vent pipe. If plastic vent pipe, even a puddle of water, if the pipe is not sloped correctly. Water in the vent pipe has to run downhill all the way to the furnace. If metal vent, probably a clog somewhere.

I have a Rheem Furance that has turned off. Just a few hours ago the main fan turned off. The Furnace doesnm't light even the draft fan does turn on and then the main fan blower motor turns on. I can hear...

You will need to reset the furnace by turning the power off to it. Then as the furnace tries to light, watch the LED for blinking. Hopefully it will give a code other than 1. Try checking the air filter for blockage, make sure all hoses are free of moisture and any drains are not blocked. Check the air intake and exhaust pipe for sags where water could block it.

The sequence of operation is this:
Thermostat calls for heat, the LED may blink telling you it registers the call. The inducer (exhaust) blower starts closing contacts in the pressure switch (small disc shaped thing), the igniter glows orange (seen thru a small window high up on furnace front), gas valve opens allowing main burner to light, flame travels to all other burners, flame rod senses flame within a few seconds and keeps gas on. Room air blower starts within 90 seconds.

Any deviation or delay in this sequence and it goes into lock-out.

Furnace kicks off and right back on

If this is a newer furnace, an indication of an error is that the room air blower stays on. Get in front of the furnace and see if you can see any blinking lights. Try not to remove any panels as you will erase any error codes. There should ba a small viewing port that you can look through. Once you count the blinks, look at the wiring diagram for the error code chart. It may give you a starting point. Can you tell us a make and model number of the system?

Ruud Silhouette II Fails to Ignite

sounds like you have bad flame sensor or the sensor is in a bad postition. To get eliminate the lockout turn the power off to the unit and back on again. Look at the circuit board light and see what the troubleshooting code is.

Main Fan won't turn off even with thermostat removed. Burner not

There is a chart with the wiring diagram and othere charts that will tell you what the 6 blinks are for. That should tell you what is wrong and what part you need. Sounds to me like the board has an issue or the gas valve is locked out.

Ruud heater will not light consistently

Your furnace is going into a lockout condition, cycling the power resets the circuit board and it starts over. I will need to know approximate age and model of your furnace, it sounds like you have need to clean the flame sensor rod. However i need to know what i am working with.
