Control Panel Display Reading

The control panel display is reading EO -F2- and keeps turning the oven off. I push the off/cancel button to reset, then set oven for what ever temperature, but after a few seconds the oven goes off and the EO -F2- appears again. What is this and how do I fix the problem?

Re: Control Panel Display Reading

MommaT, the code has to do with the keypad, key held down too long or stuck or shorted keypad. Have someone remove the key pad ribbon cable from the control board and clean the ends with an eraser. If that doesn't do it, you may need a new keypad. back

Whirlpool electric range E1 -F2- error code on display

Taking a Quick Look

The E1 F2 error message indicates the control board thinks the touch panel has been unplugged from the board or it cannot read the switches. After getting access to the panel, you can see if it is indeed still connected to the control board, but when touching buttons on the panel, but if you notice some of them would beep while others do not respond at all, this was an indication that one of the switch matrix lines that run through the ribbon cable is no longer a complete circuit.

How it Works
The panels on these ovens utilize a switching matrix to constantly monitor all the buttons for a key press. By using a matrix for switch input, many buttons can be read by the processor using very few wires. The unfortunate side of a switch matrix is if any one wire becomes damaged, an entire row of switches on the matrix will no longer be usable since they cannot be seen by the control board. Here is the control board to order.

I have a whirlpool built in oven. Model RBD275PDQ8. The display (control panel) went blank 2 months ago. I reset the breaker, nothing. Pushed buttons, it just beeps. 3 days later I pushed the upper oven...

it's the control panel behind that touchpad item. and it's not too difficult, just time consuming. My recommend is to grab a service manual online(usually around 20.00) which will provide good step by step, and also parts list.

spares? well, that's a good question. Until you have that part number, and the best way is to eyeball the one that's in side your unit(no offense to the printers, but mistakes can happen with manuals).

then you'll find out what it's like to be truly handy, eh?

Oven power failure with code EO-F2- How can the oven be reset?

"E0-F2" is a short-keypad error. This usually is an indicaton that the Electronic Range Control (ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. The ERC, also known as an Electronic Oven Control (EOC), controls all the features of the oven, clock and timer. This is your clock/timer assembly on the control panel. The following link explains how to replace one:

A replacement control board can be purchased from any of the following websites:

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

NOTE: In most cases the overlay (preprinted plastic display covering with all the numbering and lettering on it) does NOT come with the control board. If your overlay is still in good condition, it can be easily removed from the old control board and reapplied to the new one. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay so the buttons all match up. If you need to replace your overlay, you may need to order it separately. Read the part descriptions carefully to see what your replacement parts include.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER (located on a nameplate around the oven door, or lower drawer opening) and let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: You may try UNPLUGGING the range, remove the back panel and check all the board connections, first. Disconnect each plug on the control board one at a time and check to ensure the connections are not corroded and there are no broken wires. If the error code returns, you will need to replace the control board.

Display reads EO F2 Can't find what it means>

F2-E0 - Shorted Touch Pad (Keypad) - Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

Display reads EO -F2- stove top works, oven will not

F2 - E0 Shorted keypad (also called touch pad) 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

My kenmore oven is displaying ED F2 whats the problem?

So is mine, although I thought it was E0 F2. Everything I can find says to replace the electronic oven control. My oven did this about 6 months ago and I saw something online that said to unplug the oven, push each button to see if one is stuck, and then plug the oven back in. This worked for me previously, but hasn't worked this time.

After a power down the range keeps coming up EO F2? I have reset using the OFF/clear button. Oven lights but trips off to EO F2

Hi. This code is an indication of a Shorted keypad (also called touch pad)

Follow the steps below to address this issue further.

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board, via ribbon cable). Make sure the connection is sound, and not severed.

2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models may incorporate the keypad in to the control board as one unit. In this case, replace the entire control board (also called ERC or clock).
