Stove burners are Yellow

For two years the burners were blue and did a great job-overnight they turned yellow and now the high burner does not work well. I have tried to adjust each burner behind the turn on knobs with little success. Any suggestions?

Flames are mostly yellow, vent black soot

There is a flame adjust ring on each burner where the gas exits the inlet nozzle. Before adjusting these, be sure all other gas appliances are working ok (water heater, etc.) . If they are then focus on the pressure regulator on the stove itself. That is the part that the gas line from the wall connects to on the stove. It is most likely bad. If not then go back to each burner , loosen the screw that locks the adjustment ring, turn the burner on and move the ring back to allow more air to mix with the gas so the tips of the flame just turns from orange to blue. Tighten the screw and move to the next burner that needs adjustment.

My biggest gas burner is not as strong as my middle burner, this is a new problem, and very aggravating. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? My stove is about 10 years old in great condition.

Does your big burner have a lot of yellow flame? If so that is an indication of a dirty burner that is partially blocking your gas vents in the burner. If that is true in your case, I would suggest you use a BRASS brush to clean the burner - DO NOT use a wire brush to clean it.

FLAME IS YELLOW INSTEAD BLUE for sunbeam gas range

Yellow usually means more air than gas mixing at the burner. The top of the stove lifts off. There are adjustment screws in front of every burner. Turn the burner on after first locating the screw. Turn the adjustment screw until desired flame is achieved. You want a flame with a yellow tip and the body of the flame blue. Please be very careful not to get burned. Hope this helps.

We have a Tappan gas range. Don't have the model number; it was in the apartment when we moved in. It is over ten years old. It has electronic ignition. The top burners all have orange-yellow flames...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

i would take all units out and clean them..clean all holes in the burners.
since you have the problem on all burners..air/fuel is not the problem at the adjustments..you may have a gas regulator problem

How do I replace the bottom heating element. I took out two screws which attached it to the back of the stove and I thought it would just come out but it is still attached. How do I get it out?

Hi,
just lift the loop part and then pull out, away from the two end parts...the element will just slide out...it may take some force to get it to release...you may have to hold onto the plug end and pul it apart one terminal at a time...

Kitchenaid slide in range arg7102w 2 burner not working right

rget,

First...if the flames on your burners are predominantly yellow...do not use this stove! There is a strong danger of carbon monoxide.
Keep windows open while performing the tests below.

2 burners, huh? This is a gas unit. When you say trouble turning off and you say you have issues with temperature, I'm wondering why you've got issues like this. I'm inclined to believe that you've got clogged burners here or that the valves are gone. Clean the burners. The flames should be blue...with barely any yellow in them. If not, you've got blocked air supply. Clean it out. Never use abrasive cleaner like Comet here! If the burner heads are very corroded replace them. What about the valves? Do you hear gas flow after the valve is turned off? If not, it sounds like the burners are blocked. If so, the valves are bad...you probably have used them much more than the other side. Can you change the burners/tubes left to right? Try it and see what happens then.

ALL YOUR FLAMES SHOULD BE CLEAN BLUE FLAMES WITH NO WHITE OR YELLOW TIPS OR FLAMES !!!! YELLOW FLAME = DIRT OR PAINT? WHITE = LACK OF AIR SOUNDS LIKE YOUR STOVE IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH COMBUSTION AIR. INPROPER AIR ADJUSTMENTS OR LACK OF AIR WILL CAUSE A WHITE TIP ON THE FLAME ... THAT IS CARBON-MONIXIDE !!! A CLEAN BLUE FLAME EMITTS CARBON-DIOXIDE AND IS NORMAL. IF YOU USED AN AIR-GUN TO PAINT, CHANCES ARE YOUR BURNERS HAVE A SLIGHT COATING ON THEM AND HOPEFULLY WILL BURN OFF IN TIME. TRY OPENING ALL YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS IN YOUR HOUSE ... AND TURN ALL BURNERS ON AND LET THEM BURN FOR AN HOUR. DO NOT LKEAVE SIGHT OF THE STOVE, BUT KEEP NEAR A OPEN WINDOW. NOTICE !!! MOST GAS COMPANIES WILL COME OUT AT NO CHARGE TO CHECK GAS, AND FOR CARBON-MONOXIDE.(C0) NOT (CO2).
